Ooo I don’t have either but I think that Burberry is so much nicer. I don’t know how I feel about the shinyness of a Moncler coat in longline. Unreal!!

Hope we’re all well.
So my bad luck with counterfeit sandals continues. Not designer this time but I ordered a pair of Havaianas from Amazon - they arrived and were clearly fake, but I was kinda ok I’m not massively surprised as it’s Amazon. So I returned them and ordered a pair from Sole Trader. They arrived and they’re also bloody fake! I’m pretty shocked and it makes me think that if the Havaianas are fake then what else they sell is also knocked off!

How did you realise they were fakes?!!

Been looking at this thread, I'm not really much into designer items but want to treat myself to some nicer stuff, nothing extravagant but want to buy some nice bags instead of getting multiple shit quality ones. May I ask where do you usually get bags? Any best shops for good deals? Sorry if it's been mentioned loads before!

I’m going to London soon, hoping to get the Goyard mini Anjou bag in green, but does it look cheap? I’ve heard people say it’s flimsy should I just save myself the hassle and just get the Chanel ballet flats? Also I’m going midday so won’t be able to queue in the morning for the goyard so no idea if they’ll still have it when I get there!

How did you realise they were fakes?!!

They’re a different size/shape to my other pair from the Havaiana store, they stink of rubber, the word Havaiana is different on each one and one of them is missing the little ridges in the rubber where the straps meet at the top. Honestly I’m completely shooketh!

I’ve decided I want a speedy. It’s the first designer bag I ever fell in love with as a teenager reading fashion magazines so I want to add it to my collection.

I remember how cheap they were when I first discovered them and 13 year old me thought wow I’ll never have that much money… if only I knew how expensive they would get

Does anyone have one, do you recommend buying new or getting second hand? I love the old, beat up style and that suits my overall style more, but then do I want the in store experience and brand new bag that’s only mine forever….

Tell me about it! I bought mine in my early twenties for less than £350 I'll leave you to guess how long ago that was based on the price alone!

The one thing I will say about a speedy is consider whether you are a hand-carry only kind of person, or whether you need a shoulder strap. The Speedy B was not a thing when I bought mine, and I think I might have actually kept it if I'd had the option to wear it on my shoulder.

They are a fab classic bag though - once you know which one you want you can't go wrong. I'd definitely get another one now if I could afford to.

FWIW I think your original comment read like this - but that may just be because I agree lol. There’s clearly discourse to be had over ethical supply chains & who profits from counterfeit goods, also the safety of products made through unregulated back channels, I doubt any of us would deny that. But some of the comments were a bit dark for me, like anything that makes you (the universal you, not you you!) feel so perturbed is worth investigating

I’m, I’m stupid, so I don’t understand why he wants all the stock gone, but wants to own the name?
Makes sense as to why matches took days to answer my WhatsApp messages if they’re getting rid of staff. They usually would answer straight away.

Market share. Matches as a domain will have a lot of (organic direct & search, so free) traffic going to it so that has an intrinsic value (this was a big deal in the made.com sale), plus it takes a competitor out the market so higher chance of customer spend being within his group. The consumer loses out as there’s less choice in the market, especially when you consider his low value proposition/history of abhorrent personal and professional conduct.

going to see family down south at the start of next month so rather than visit then stay over we're travelling and staying the night before, which has been a great excuse for a first trip to bicester village! going with parents and we'll be getting there for 11ish on a friday, honestly i'll be needing any and all advice you have. been to cheshire oaks and once to york but not sure if the mcarthur glen ones work a bit differently

we'll probs be getting dinner in cheltenham (staying near montpellier gardens) so any recs there would be amazing too!
