agree about satin! Plus if anything gets spilt on it it looks naff, also a lot to pay for fabric when you can get leather. I own one pair of peep toe Loubs and my toes feel like they’re being amputated

It was okay! Good addition to Manchester. Came to about £250 for two people though, and that was only with two alcoholic drinks - so very expensive. Don’t get me wrong, you can do it for less - but we ordered a lot of food.

I preferred the food at Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay which opened in the summer. Overall, absolutely beautiful restaurant and nice vibe but wouldn’t rush back anytime soon, maybe for a drink if I was out. We got 7:45 on the opening Saturday but the only celeb I saw was Helen Flanagan service was really good. Only annoying thing was we were asked way over 10 times if a dish was ours, when it wasn’t. Apparently they’d taken out the table next to us or something, so they kept thinking plates of food was for my table number. One or twice I don’t really mind, but having to say no like ten times did start to grate. Let them off though as it’s the first week it had opened.

The Yoox side of things always seemed a bit...low budget compared to NAP to my consumer-self!

It depends how deep you want to get into it all/what you want from it. I’d argue the whole quiet luxury thing is a classist self congratulatory delusion with very little depth to it. It depends what you’re interested in tbh - business, ethics, creative, environment, collecting, models, etc etc!

Diet prada on Insta is a very good generalist account with good social values, but isn’t fixated on consumerism - like they won’t tell you what to buy or push aff links. But the iykyk stuff isn’t really pushed in that way through influencers etc anyway really.

Idk, for developing your own wardrobe/personal brand, personally I really like Liberty for directing purchases, even if to help guide what I look for on eBay/Vinted as try to be a preloved girly as much as possible! Just think they curate a lot of quality/interesting pieces and brands that are a bit different. Same with small indie brands, if you’re after quality/things that don’t fit into the naff microplastic Land Rover mum aesthetic you’d be best going down the sustainable insta route!

Well I live in the epicentre of naff microplastic Land Rover mum aesthetics, so whilst I’m not looking to wear head to toe LV emblems I also don’t want to choose completely unknown/unique pieces, if no one knows them then what’s the point, I could just buy a leather bag from Next and call it a day Trying to find the middle ground, brands that are up and coming, or well known without being blingy, or older classic european brands that haven’t been worn to death over here yet, Delvaux, Moynat etc

I like following Andrea Cheong, she’s defo got a quiet luxury vibe, but also goes through ethics and sustainability to guide purchases. She does designer and high st.

Will do. They have good stock of the necklaces and rings but no bracelets, although they said they are expecting a delivery by Friday. I have my heart set on the necklace as have so many bracelets but may wait and see if they come in to try them on.

I feel like there is a shortage of the bracelets. When I went to Dubai last year they told me there is a big waiting list for them hope you love your necklace!

I also love the necklaces but feel like they're overpriced for what they are. £2.6k for the necklace which has 1 Alhambra, but £1.4k more gets you the bracelet with 5 alhambras #girlmath

I really really love this bag & was p much ready to buy, went and saw it and was sadly horrified I suppose it being a soft buttery leather wouldn’t work with it being oragami-esque so this criticism isn’t really fair, but the feel of it wasn’t worth it for me, personally.

I think the brand probably had its best moments between 2013-2015

They tried to bring that back by resuscitating those shark boots and they keep trying to keep the Antigona bag alive but with brands like Loewe and Celine which do nicer clothes and bags I don’t see where Givenchy and their large logo T-shirts can fit in.

Balmain is another I think is dying a slow death.

I never really cared for the Antigona. I think I lost interest in the brand after they discontinued the Nightingale bag. That was their most iconic time for me

Agree that Loewe is so timeless and most beautiful craftsmanship

If they can’t sell these for £35 there’s no hope trying to sell mulberry and Alexander McQueen and nobody’s biting at £70 mark when they’re good condition? I don’t understand it, these are great items

I’ve found shoes really don’t keep their value, unless they’re Hermes or Chanel
