Hi all :) Need your advice please 🙂 I’m thinking to buy the Jacquemus Le Grand Chiquito in the beige linen (exact in picture). Do you think this bag will go out of style/is it worth it?
Personally, I'd avoid it. With the sheer amount of exposure they've had, they're on the way out.
(I will admit to being the most classic/boring buyer in history though)

This might be an unpopular opinion so apologies in advance, but if this is a special/rare purchase I’d say don’t get them. Purely because they’re just costume jewellery and won’t last forever, you’d get a lot more for your money eg not just something plated, and in a timeless/really special design rather than some CC earrings. Also would suspect you’d get more wear out of a less branded item too…? 😬

Or even something vintage which would be cheaper than buying new/bespoke jewellery would be lovely!
Thanks so much to you both, love this thread for giving great practical advice!! It is a special purchase from me to me so something less branded will give me more wear in the long run! Thanks xx

Agree with the others on the Jacquemus. Not a classic IMO and I think it would date really quickly. Also beige linen would make me very tense! 😂

Hi all! Total lurker and really enjoy this thread! I've no idea about designers, or bags, but I love reading about it all and seeing your purchases! I've recently thought I'd love a pair of Chanel cc earrings (i dont wear any other jewellery apart from my engagement and wedding rings), just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on them, or are they too common? I'd like to treat myself to something nice and simple but not sure where to buy from!
De beers do beautiful diamond studs

Can anyone identify this watch simplyfoodbymandy wears please?
It looks the same as my watch - it's a 26mm Datejust in yellow gold and stainless steel, with a navy blue face and diamonds. I absolutely love it. I was worried it was a bit small when I first got it, but now I think it's a classic and I never take it off.

What’s Bicester like at the moment? I’m heading to Oxford on sunday and wondering if it’ll be busy?

It was quite busy Monday so weekends would likely be busier - depends what time you get there but first or last thing is usually the better options

Good luck finding something special to you :) with jewellery I’d avoid any brands tbh and go directly to independent jewellers to ask, it’ll be the best quality you can buy & you’ve got a contact to help with the item in the future (eg resizing, repairs). I think people would be surprised to know that having an item made to your spec isn’t ridiculously expensive, it’s insanely good value for the money imo!

Designer jewellery wise.... I do love my Tiffany bracelets and Cartier ring (wanted a very special inheritance purchase!) I wear all of them everyday ❤

Guys, what would you do if your friend purchased a fake of a real designer item you owned?

And to expand on it, what would you do if they got compliments on it and people said “awwww you and scorpihoe have the same bag” 😅

Honestly I wouldn’t care. You know it’s the real deal and that’s all that matters.

Sorry I meant would it put you off carrying the bag? If she told you it was genuine, when you know it’s not, would you say anything?

i don’t plan on saying anything, it’s none of my concern how she spends her money and if she wants a fake that’s totally up to her, I was just curious about your guys responses!

This would really really annoy me but as you did say it’s a friend I probably wouldn’t say anything. If she was going on about it and pretending it’s genuine I might be tempted to ask which store she got it from or something like that. But no if it’s a genuine friend I don’t think you can really say much without seeming a witch even though it would irritate me too. I would still use yours though as it’s genuine!

I wouldn’t tell her I know it’s fake. Think I would still wear the bag but not when seeing her.

Yeh I would just take pride in knowing mine is the real deal and avoid wearing it at the same time she is

I wouldn't say anything. It will make you come across as a bit snobby which I'm sure isn't your intention! Fakes are everywhere, just one of those things, they do annoy me too but at the end of the day, the quality is poor and I want my bag to last for years. With the cost of living going up, I think a lot of people are putting their money elsewhere or simply can't justify spending hundreds if not thousands on a bag.

Even if hers was real I probably would avoid wearing mine, mainly as I hate wearing the same as someone I’m with!

I wouldn’t care to be honest but I’d find it a little amusing of course. I’ve got the real thing and no fake could ever compare.

I don’t think it would put me off but I wouldn’t wear mine when she’s wearing her fake cause I don’t want to deal with the comparisons. I wouldn’t say anything because its no of my business and I don’t want start drama.
