Has anyone here ordered from 'addicted to handbags'? I've seen a lovely Gucci bag I really want but I'm so worried it won't be genuine as it seems too good to be true! Thanks x

I keep seeing handbags I’m so tempted by on her page but like you I’m really cautious of dropping a few thousand £ & I’m really unsure of their provenance/authenticity She did an igtv on authenticity if that’s any help. For me it’s the rate she lists bags that has me holding back…

I have followed her for a while but never bought myself! My friends and a few on here have though.

She gets them authenticated before selling and for high value items she tends to include the certificate with the bag.

There is loads of feedback on the FB group if you’re unsure But I would go for it!

I would love to know where she sources from as it seems to be endless!? I asked about selling a Mulberry through her a while ago but the price she quoted wasn’t that great - I ended up selling for a few hundred more on eBay!

Yeah I know what you mean about the rate shes listing so many. And they all look immaculate so it's not like someone has bought them and used them and then selling to buy another.

Oh right, so I follow her sister! Didn’t realise until I just took a look then. Her sister is DM Luxe, she has a serious mainly Chanel collection, and does sell some of it off to replace with new Chanel. I think she gets hers from Harrods. I’ve no idea what she does for a job but her collection is impressive!

I did indeed. I went for a very OTT pink bling gucci number. It looks legit.... I'm not bag expert of course but I did watch her videos where she says how she authenticates (always has an external person check too apparently)

The volume blows my mind with addicted to handbags as well. I might just be massively underestimating the size of the luxury bag market and who is buying them and then actively looking to sell them. I’ve used npn nest in the past as it was recommended but I only bought a scarf I had been after - it was perfect.
I noticed Sophie shohet had been to a reseller shop in London that looked interesting - I couldn’t figure out their profit margins/ business model either though… The rising prices will be helping I guess but they must be buying cheaply somewhere.

Yes, I just don’t get where they are all coming from I’m sure they are genuine - as are addicted to handbags but there must be so many more bags sold than I’ve ever realised before

I know exactly what you mean, DM Luxe has new Chanel stuff so often. I think it’s mainly for herself and then she sells on brand new bags in order to get more. But the money still has to be there in the first place?

I was also really intrigued because they're from the same place as me which is absolutely not luxe - I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone carrying a Chanel there, nevermind Hermes! So I had a nosy and one works in oil/gas and one in accountancy. So both well paying jobs, particularly oil/gas!

I believe there is a mixture of consignment bags and ones bought for resale.

Agreed. Ive never bought from her but she’s been around in the mulberry groups for years and she’s gone into a broader range the last couple of years. The mulbs groups in particular are great at sniffing out dodgy sellers, so she’d have been called out ages ago if she wasn’t legit.

I went to Manchester Saturday sadly Chanel didn’t have my size in the loafers but the SA I have contacted me today next delivery she will save them for me . I do prefer the Chanel to the Prada I’m more for gold hard wear than silver for a start. I also think I’ll get sooo much wear out of them.

I have bags from both places and 1 from Vintage Heirloom (Winnie who did run that now works for LP but she's also worked for the big London auction houses as the bag expert). My first ever LV is the most special because it was my first ever ever designer bag. Its a Red Epi Leather Crossbody
