He might "prefer no baggage", but most people have baggage of some sort by the time you get to your mid-30s/early 40s (be it emotional, mental children, exes).
I've seen guys saying that they don't want to date a woman with kids, despite having kids themselves. That just screams of a jealous and possessive nature, not wanting to have to 'share' her.

How old is this dude?

Btw there is a comma missing from the above, it should say "mental, children"... not "mental children"!

'Baggage' is such an awful, dismissive way to describe these people, who, good and bad, are the most significant individuals in a person's life. But not to him, they are just 'baggage'. As will any woman be one day if she dates this loser.

I think "baggage" to these men means any sort of issue or problem which would stop a woman from being happy, easygoing and available 24/7.

In other words, normal problems, issues and responsibilities.

I would expect a man in his 30s and 40s onwards to have "baggage", and frankly would consider those who didn't have it to be suspect.

So many guys on these apps refer to someone having kids in particular as “baggage”. Such an awful term. How dare you refer to my child as baggage!

A lot use the phrasing “never been married and no kids which is rare”. No, maybe you are so hideous that no one would touch you with a barge pole, never mind procreate with you.

I find when people say they don't want "someone with baggage" what they really mean is they don't want to deal with someone who has human emotions.

To me, that phrase also goes hand in hand with men saying ‘no drama’. Aka let me behave how I want and don’t you dare question it!

^ The lady doth protest too much. Time wasters = women who dare to want a bit of conversation first, to get an idea of a potential date, rather than agree straight away to a meet 'n' bone.

It's a huge red flag if a guy gets annoyed that you won't meet him immediately, or if he pressures you to see him without you having a conversation with him to get to know him better.

Women are at risk when they use these apps. There are so many criminals and sex offenders on them, and we have to stay safe. Ladies, take all the time you want before meeting up with a man off an app. If he doesn't like it, good riddance.

“It’s meant to be if….”

His reply

You wear tights. 😍

I doubt he’d like my 80 denier opaque tights from M&S about 5+ years ago.

His age is also 41 but in his bio he’s put it’s actually 31 😐

When I was dating in my late 30s as a woman with no kids and no ex-husband I was treated like some kind of leper by men on the apps. Why had no-one married me? What’s wrong with me that no-one had got me pregnant? Did I hate kids? Was I infertile?! I’m not having a go about your comment at all, just saying even when you are free of the ‘baggage’ (hate the term too!) they claim to want to avoid so badly they still have a problem with it 😝

I know a man in his 30's, he's an artist (actually makes a living from his artwork), he's not weird, he's solvent, he has no kids, there is however one very needy dog AND still he lives with his dad. He's not his dad's carer, his dad is a very fit and able 70yo, still climbing mountains and doing triathlons. This man has asked me why he's having no success online dating. I gently suggested rephrasing the 'lives with dad' to 'sharing a house with' or something along those lines but he can't see why his living arrangements might be off-putting. He's such a sweetheart (but I am only a friend, not a lover, he might have any number of unsavoury habits!) and has so far only had 3 matches. One was a woman who had already picked out her wedding dress and the name of their 3 children, another was a Scandinavian woman who was intending to move back to Sweden imminently, and the other was a very sweet but very intense woman plotting gruesome revenge on her ex-husband.

I told him to get back down the pub and forget internet dating for now. :D :D :D
