Good luck ❤ And have fun. A lovely al fresco dinner and a cool drink will be perfect in the warm weather
Thank you!

I need advice please! I’ve been messaging someone for a few days, generally all positive, I like where he’s at, he seems good looking.

only issue is that he says stuff that makes me cringe like we were talking about our weekend plans and he said ‘not got much on, maybe I’ll get a chance to see if you’re as sexy in real life as in your photos’. He’s also previously told me I look stunning in my photos. I hate being called ‘sexy’, ‘beautiful’ etc by people I’m messaging, but I’m a matter of fact person, I can get my flirt on once I know someone but I’m not really into loads of appearance based compliments before I know someone.

I know I can be a bit overly formal, so I guess my question is, is this my issue or his? Is it genuinely cringe or am I just being awkward?
That sentence is a bit cringe tbh, I think it's nice when a guy calls me beautiful but sexy is cringey if we haven't met! I would reply back with something really cheeky like 'I know I am😇' or 'Well I've never been turned down 😉'

My brain can’t function in the heat, wedding ring or not?

Also, how would you feel if you started to talk to someone but found out they’d slept with a close friend, no go right?

It's his left hand and ring finger so I'd be inclined to say wedding ring.

As for the close friend situation, speak to the friend and see how they feel. I'm "slut sisters" with a few of my friends. Depends on the friend and the guy

I've been a lurker on here and just reading your stories which have helped me recently after going through a bit of a hard time with the last guy I was seeing!

Come across this on tinder... I have no words 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂
Nice little bit of revenge there 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It’s his right hand. It’s a reflection so it’s definitely his right hand. So not a wedding ring.

Hi all,
Tentatively dipping my toe in here after lurking for a while- I split with my husband back in April after 10 years and 2 kids and have been pretty devastated by it all. I think it's been made worse because I thought he was the perfect man and he was awful to me at first. Now he's started being nice to me again and I stupidly had sex with him at the weekend.
Is there any hope to find a nice, decent man or am I going to be stuck moping after my ex forever 😂

Ah so sorry you’ve had a rough time of it. There are loads of nice, decent men out there and dating can be so fun - there’s nothing like the high of the feeling of hope and promise as you walk away from early dates with someone you really fancy and are just starting to get to know. From one person who fell down the sex with an ex trap to another - when you’re ready you’ll be excited about meeting new people and there are lots of fun ones out there to meet ❤

Aww jellycat99 I did exactly the same two weeks ago. I hope you're doing okay ❤

As for a decent man.... I still hope so 🤞🏼💕 you've got to keep believing haven't you!?

Have you tried the apps yet? I found it quite a good distraction and pick up for my battered self esteem, even if you don't find your match straight away it gives you a boost and you can start to get excited about the possibility of dating again 😊❤

Sorry you’re having a rough time.

It’s only been a few months since you split from your husband. After such a long relationship, you need time to grieve.

Speaking from experience, I’d try not to think about whether or not you’ll meet someone else one day. I wouldn’t even think of downloading any apps, even if it’s just for an ego boost. I made the mistake of doing this and wound up in a really toxic relationship because I was far too vulnerable.

I know it’s hard, but you’ve basically just been through a major trauma. It’s important you look after yourself.

Yes I agree, I’ve never been married so I can’t begin to understand how painful your breakup was, but having been through shorter term things myself I’ve found that surrounding yourself with things that heighten positive sensory things help...for me, it was having a lovely smelling candle on all day, finding a box set that either scared me or made me laugh (I love crime stuff)...reading a really good book...these things can take you temporarily “out of yourself” and raise your serotonin levels to try and counteract the anxiety and hurt you feel. Of course they won’t make it go away, but a plaster over a wound can help it to heal. Sending love and hugs xxx
