I'm in the southwest and it's drier than the Sahara here in terms of men
Damm I was living in hope, Scandinavia it is, half tempted to go ‘global’ on Tinder 🤣

has anyone ever reconnected with an ex who you weren’t feeling it with but probably should’ve given it more of a go?

I haven’t because my exes are exes for a reason. However, there must be okay exes out there, sometimes you break up without giving it a good thought, all depends on the situation, I guess. What is your ex like?

It’s going to sound pathetic but he was younger than me, wasnt confident at driving, lived with his parents, didn’t have an idea of what he wanted in future and wasn’t very ambitious, I found it really off putting at the time, however it was never really serious and he could be with someone now, we didn’t keep in touch

My love story was short lived. We messaged like normal after my wobble and asked if he checked his rota and woke up to this message basically saying he’s working past 7 all this week and has the painter and joiner coming this weekend. He’s struggling to find any quality time and feels he’s got a lot on.

He has asked if we could put dating on ice for a short while? Aa he seems to be juggling plates and doesn’t fancy dropping any.

So yeah 😕

Oh I see. He doesn’t sound too bad, I don’t see any big problems, he must have matured since then anyway. Are you thinking of contacting him or just wondering?

I’m so sorry lovely! This is a bit of a fool move on his part, he could have warned you 🙁 If you are okay with it, there might be a chance he is indeed busy and will get back to you after some time, I think, but I would not get my hopes up very much, and I’m not sure you would want to wait for him either. Anyway, it is not your fault at all. I hope you are okay ❤

Doesn’t sound pathetic at all. I do think we have a tendency to look back with rose tinted glasses though. And he could still be all of those things!

Thanks @MinnieMaus he could be and yes I think I might @Raymond Luxury-Yacht nothing to loose to send a friendly message right? I did want to keep him as a friend at the time. Also, who is for a trip to Norway…

Deffo nothing to lose! If he is a nice guy, you can stay friends even if it doesn’t work out. Good luck, hope it goes well ❤

@boomska I think going forward, it would be helpful to pay less attention to what men say and more attention to what they do.
If I’ve understood your posts correctly, you’ve tried to initiate meeting up with this guy 4 times now. The first time, he ignored it until you put him on the spot and he had to answer (no one only reads half a message, that’s complete nonsense), the second time he said no and didn’t offer an alternative day, the third time he said he’d check his rota and get back to you and judging by this most recent post, it sounds like you’ve had to chase him up again for him to finally say no. Granted, he should have said that a lot sooner and that’s definitely on him, but there are subtle nuances here to be picked up on for the next time you’re dating somebody that will save you going through this again. If it feels like hard work or like you’re constantly chasing, it’s not the one.
I hope you’re OK. ❤

:( i fully agree with @ThreeSteaksPam here; it seems you’re constantly chasing this guy, ultimately if he wants to see you then he’ll make the effort. you were really honest with him on how his lack of commitment to plans was making you feel too. i’m sorry, hope you’re okay! 💙

Was this the guy you spent the night with?
oh well chalk it up to experience lovely girl. I know you’ll probably be thinking all sorts and blaming yourself but don’t do that. Glad you found out now he’s not able to commit to dating etc rather than when you feel more invested x

Now I remember why I hate dating or not dating shall I say...match with a guy and decided to exchange numbers. He called me on the phone and we spent about 2hrs speaking. He arranged a date for Sunday. Woke up and I've been blocked not only on whatsapp but my number haha

I agree with some of your points in your message- the third and fourth time I was definitely chasing, second is in a grey area because I don’t think he could suggest another date cause he didn’t have a date to hand. but I don’t agree with ‘no one reads half a message’ we were sending big paragraphs at that point and he was out , slightly drunk, with his friends so ideally, he should’ve waited till he could read it probably but hey ho, we’re only human so I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt for that one.

Either way, I know it’s a learning curve and I do believe him being busy, but it’s time to move on!

oh losa i’m so sorry :( you really are having an awful time of it at the moment. that guy didn’t deserve even a minute from you. hope you’re okay 💙 you’re also coming out of a super traumatising situation, there’s no harm in taking your time with dating x

That’s crazy! I think you made a lucky escape, he sounds like a weirdo. Hope you are okay Losa ❤

My match and I exchanged outdoorsy pictures, I made an effort and sent a nice pic in my favorite wool coat, and he is wearing a horrible puffer jacket and a hat in his 😂 That’s nothing, right? I must be nitpicking?

I thought he could be potentially be fake but was surprised when he called me. Sounded down to earth, I know I go after the wrong type of men tbf tall dark muscles with a beard haha I need to change my type ASAP

I have an irrational hatred of puffer/puffa (?) jackets on anyone. The only person who can get away with it is my 4 year old 😂

I know I have thought similar in the past but I’d honestly base whether you pursue on how he makes you feel rather than a bad jacket 🙂 although if he’s going for a ‘roadman’ look that’s an instant turn off for me
