They are broadcasters rather than journalists, although I admit I haven't looked at their qualificiations. Truth is, there aren't many people with a true jounrnalistic background working in British broadcast media today. Off the top of my head Nick Ferrari at LBC is one, but as he edited The Express some posters here would probably label him 'right wing scum'. Also, another one is, and don't laugh when I say this ... Richard Madeley! Aaah-Haa!

I wouldn't begrudge the people listed above for working on GB News, it's probably the only job they can get and do ... I don't think anyone would describe Eamon as 'woke', but I don't really think he's 'right wing scum' either. I think Stephen is quite a devout Christian, but I could be wrong. Ellie I suspect just wants to carve out a media career for herself and Anne, well ... it's just easy money really isn't it. Anyway, I'm rambling.
Hate to correct you, my mafia friend, but they are all journalists. Even Eamonn, believe it or not, whose first job in TV was as a farming reporter for Ulster Television! (Yes, you read that correctly) I remember in an interview just as he joined GBN, he called himself 'either a very right wing Labour voter or a very caring Conservative' so he's probably slap bang in the middle politically.

I don't think Stephen Dixon is particularly religious... again he's certainly not what I'd call 'right wing scum', far from it, though I think he did vote for Brexit. He is openly gay and married to an Army man, for what that's worth. Ellie was a reporter for BBC News before going to GB... not quite sure why you'd give up a gig at the BBC for that, but whatever.

Eamonn Holmes, Isabel Webster, Stephen Dixon, Ellie Costello, Anne Diamond, for starters. I'm sure there are more too. But I can see you think no-one who works there has decent credentials so we'll have to agree to disagree. The more controversial and dodgy figures there have garnered the headlines so tbh I can understand why people think everyone is of the same ilk there.
The daytime lineup is almost like a retirement home for ex-Sky News presenters! (Eamonn, Isabel, Stephen all worked at Sky for many years, as did Mark Longhurst)

I assume byline have zero assets, so not worth suing. After this balls up byline have no reputation either. I don't doubt Wootton is a class a arsehole, but all these allegations were looked at by the police before, resulted in zero charges.
Exactly, it's just one of many limited companies they have. Probably drain the cash every month after the donations come in. So even if they got sued no big deal. Could just spin off a new blog.

No suprise fox and the guy being loud about supporting fox are gone.

Woootooon still pending

Surely the Guardian etc would have got in contact with police themselves to verify that an investigation had started. It seems weird if they just repeated the Byline story without checking.
gosh no, places like the guardian or anywhere don't do that level of journalism these days. They'll quickly chuck up an article based on a unreliable blog.

Latest article on Wootton / GB News from Byline Times. In what will be a surprise to no-one, it looks like his departure is permanent, and the decent journalists at the channel are mightily pissed off at the fall out of all of this.

What "decent journalists"?

I have heard through the grapevine he has a very iron clad contract. The fact he did this on air on their channel (not to mention that it has gathered mainstream news coverage) has gave them a great excuse to get rid.

Interestingly I have also heard that at GBN the controversy, chaos and drama is 10 times worse behind the scenes. A friend once told me “ they should be filming the office and newsroom not the studio”.
Sounds like a channel 5 documentary waiting to happen 😂 😂 😂

Looks like that's him gone if he's retweeting stuff to bitch about GB news

Not sure how many media roles are available in Scotland for him.

Would have thought he'd do the standard journalist route and do PR or crisis management (after his crisis is solved) for big celebs. Bit like Andy Coulson (also a former showbiz journo) who went to jail for phone hacking.

The Mail Online was his main gig wasn’t it? GB New is small fry in comparison, and even that one’s on a shoogly peg.

I hope his mortgage payments suddenly fee a lot less manageable. :)

Oh, I loathe Calvin. Even by GB News' standards he's an extremist. Borderline fascist, I'd say. Thinks welfare should be abolished. Because his mum worked three jobs, everyone else should too. I'm convinced he's aiming for a gig in America with the far-right evangelicals there. Hopefully he'll bugger off there now GB have suspended him.
He's an immense twat. He's a regular in the right wing bellend hangout restaurant Boisdale of Belgravia.

I really wonder how many people will pay to watch DW. I used to like hate-watching him on GB because it was funny, and I know that was adding to his view count, but I wouldn't directly give him money for a subscription. I wonder how much of his base was people hate-watching - will he be surprised when his GB viewer numbers don't translate to paid subscriptions?
I had a look at his 'list' on this website. Honestly, it's like something from Geocities circa 1998. (One for older Internet users there). 😬

Guido saying that guardian story repeating the byline story that the police are investigating Dan has been taken down
Do you have a link or screen shot? Can't seem to find it

Edit found it, daily star and mirror too have deleted their posts.

"Press Gazette understands that a lawyer acting for Wootton has warned publishers about possible legal action".

Rupert's only interest (and knowledge) is in print media. Also once he dies Fox News in the US will more than likely be sold off, so take that for what it's worth in regard to what happens with media assets in the UK.
There's a jaw dropping article in today's Daily Mail, by Andrew Neil of all people, calling Rupert gaga. Well worth a read, Andrew Neil hasn't even waited for him to finally die to stick the boot in. Pretty clear it will all be sold off.

I always wonder about these 'tv vicars' ... it's almost as if it was the only way they could get on tv. Talk about fucking desperate. I would suggest Kate Botley and the fucking dreadful Richard Coles (who seems to turn up everywhere) couldn't give a toss about God or whatever it is they pretend to preach about. Calvin certainly couldn't, that's for damn sure.
Kate Botley is an absolute arse according to a friend who lives in her parish.

So far up her own backside that she must never see daylight.

I don't know anything about Richard Coles other than what I have seen on the telly, but I think he's a tw@t.
