I wonder if she ever sits down and wonders who she really is because this whole act seems absolutely exhausting to keep up with even in the name of “romanticizing your life”.cost of living but make it aesthetic. Her starving artist act is so cringe, she's always travelling so clearly isn't short of money
I dont think so, its not linked anywhere and ive seen a comment that said "pls open goodreads acc" something in the lines of this.Does she have a goodreads account?
She has, it’s linked in her author’s goodreads profile - https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/144857350Does she have a goodreads account?
I remember she posted about someone asking where was her blouse (?) from and she said something along the lines of “I just want to read you poetry”. Girl… I promise you people are not following you for your art. It’s not a good sign when you know your literary career wouldn’t exist if your personal style was old jeans and a tank top.Ironic that she posted a TikTok shading people that ask about "aesthetics" when she is literally one of the most aesthetic-driven people on that app. Her whole identity is built on dark academia lol.
Active-ish! The cringe is so real, I struggle to even watch with her cringy 'moaning crappy poetry about how to live life, even though she's a 25 year old who still thinks it's cute to call the devil her father' videos, so haven't posted as much, but feel free to post whatever you find!Is this thread still active? I'm new to conversations about Dakota. She doesn't post as often as other 'Influencers'
I agree, I had to unfollow her on instagram because it was all red wine is blood, her sexy victoriana era girl photo shoots it was too cringe to watch. And I can't stand to listen to her.Active-ish! Thanks for the reply. Yeah, 'Satan's daughter' is pretty cringe and repetitive. How many times can she say the words 'devoured' 'consumed' 'tender' 'unhinged'.Active-ish! Maybe i'll do a recap at some point. She seems to re-use a lot of content. Her voice is painful. I've lived in Melbourne, Australia and have met people just like her. Absolute wankers lol. I am intrigued by her because Im expecting her at any minute to say 'haha, this is all just satire, I'm actually a normal person and this has all been an experiment'. I'd also like an apology if that is the case.I agree, I had to unfollow her on instagram because it was all red wine is blood, her sexy victoriana era girl photo shoots it was too cringe to watch. If anyone still watches her I'd love a recap if your into it![]()

Exactly, and on the spirituality point - when she thought of herself as this Nietzsche reborn, 'God killer' figure, it genuinely made me cringe SO HARD. Not only is it just cringe and giving 15 year old who thinks they're deep, but in what world does it make sense for someone in their mid 20s in 2023 (an age of high levels of western atheism), whose claim to fame is being a bleach blonde with blue eyes who's eager to show off her body* in a world that values that aesthetic even if the words that come out of it are incredibly contrived, to think she's a God killer?.... Like, what exactly is it you've offered to philosophy other than whining about Catholic school like every other middle class white girl who has nothing real to complain about?...Long time lurker here. I don´t have tt so I don´t know what she posts on there, but I follow her on ig. I can´t add much to what´s been already written about her, it´s spot on imho. One thing that especially bothers me with her though is her whole religion schtick. I read somewhere that she grew up catholic and "has religious trauma from catholic school" and I suppose that´s where all this comes from. Spirituality is a highly personal thing so I can´t say whether she´s religious or not, but seeing her posts and the type of stuff she says I personally don´t think she is, at least not catholic. And I also can´t speak for her trauma about catholic school, but to me it feels like she uses her "catholic background" and catholicism/christianity as an aesthetic/part of her aesthetic and frankly I find that a bit tasteless, especially if she supposedly has trauma associated with it. I think many people who are not from a (historically) catholic country/don´t know catholics etc. don´t really know much about catholicims or catholic schools and I feel like she plays into that a bit in front of her followers. Also, the McCauley twins in The Secret History grew up catholic (iirc) and with her glorification of Camilla and the book as a whole it makes all the more sense to me why she made all this such a part of her persona.
I personally have not read Nietzsche apart from the basics we learned about him in highschool, but by just skimming through the wikipedia article about him I also doubt Dakota has read all too much by him. Her whole act just feels so shallow and over the top artificial. Also a picture of her that made me cringe so hard is one she posted in february I think when she visited Gentleman Gas Mask in Palermo where she holds her hands as is common in depictions of Baphomet - girly, your´re not a demon smhExactly, and on the spirituality point - when she thought of herself as this Nietzsche reborn, 'God killer' figure, it genuinely made me cringe SO HARD. I'd genuinely be surprised if she's actually read anything by him tbh.
*Check her recent tiktoks esp, the amount of flashes of her a and pulling up very short dresses flashing her knickers, when showing clothes. Like, girl stop, the thirst shots are too much. The way she writhes around in an attempt to look sexy-playful always sends me because it just reminds me of Britney Spears' insta videos with the same dead eyes and writhing for the camera.
