Sticking with their 'designated' colours then!
i assume it was the usual of all three girls opening a pile of identical gifts, just in slightly different colours - because even though Char has mentioned in her post that all three girls have different interests, she isn't actually going to allow them to write their own birthday list and request totally different presents, because that would ruin their "triplet girls" content. it's bad enough to that they treated them as a set when they were little, but they are now seven years old and are being prevented from being three individual little girls, with the freedom to express themselves how they choose and to ask for gifts they actually WANT, rather than having to compromise receiving matching presents.
also, Alex's stories are the same repetitive routine of him pestering the girls while they are trying to play and skate on their heelies, asking the usual stupid questions where he pretends to forget their names and age etc - you can tell they are so done with his bullshit as they often just ignore him, and then eventually give in and answer his questions about what presents they got so they can get back to actually playing with them. seven years of being exploited and expected to perform on cue.
