Exactly!! I don’t understand why people think it’s okay to do that to someone?!

It’s total misogynists who think they have every right to do it because they’ve had a few drinks and you should go along #forthelads with it because you work there

Some oaf groped my bum once and tried to lift up my skirt so I got him kicked out, he parting words were ‘you’ve got celibate legs anyway!’ I can only imagine he meant to say something along the lines of you have cellulite..., charming!

it was all caught on camera so it’s been proved I was telling the truth (and was very shaken)
his girlfriend (who thinks the sun shines out of his a) had the cheek to come stamping in screaming that I’m a liar-and tried to hit me with her handbag! (But fell over her Zimmer frame thankfully)

2nd was a teenage lad who got a warning and a ban but still comes in-after checking im not at work

and they let him!

My friend's daughter (16 and still at school) works in Primark at the weekends. Her second weekend there and a woman tit in the changing room and wiped her a on the (white) curtain lining afterwards

I worked in a garden centre for a while and at one stage they had a refurb and did a big reopening etc.
I remember a customer coming in with her adult daughter. They had a full basket of goods, went to the cafe and had tea and cake. While they were eating, it was time to shut down, so we cleaned up around them, making sure not to disturb them. When they finished they gave myself and another member of staff a massive earful about how terrible the refit was, the new staff were apparently really rude and obnoxious (none of the staff had changed), we made them feel rushed while they had their tea and they would never be coming back. Obviously we apologised and explained that it was 20 minutes after the cafe was due to close at this stage but they were welcome to stay as long as they wanted. They huffed out with their massive basket and we heard them say ‘oh, mustn’t forget to pick up that tea rose before we pay’......so they hated their experience so much that they loads of items

The final straw for me when I worked in customer care was someone saying they were going to kill themselves because DPD had attempted delivery but they weren’t in, and they wouldn’t receive their order before going on holiday.

Yes it’s annoying, but this order contained a size 10 white bikini they could easily get from the high street or even a supermarket if the shops were closed.

Working in Sainsburys and doing the hourly toilet check and almost stand on a tit that someone had done on the floor right next to the toilet. Why would you do that?

People bringing £200+ worth of cheap clothes/items to the till and getting impatient that it takes me a while to pack it all into bags. Some people would stand there scowling and rolling their eyes at me, as if it was my fault they had so many items in their basket! And you could guaruntee a lot of clothes wouldn't have tags so I would have to search for the wash label to manually type the barcode into the till.

I narrowly escaped mcdonalds a while back .. reading these stories I'm glad I did. Tried out an internship at sephora a little while ago and I only lasted a week. It was hell. I got yelled at in front of a whole line of customers for calling a customer mister instead of sir. Had to handle mountains of deliveries on my own while the other interns got to spritz perfume on clients as their task, and while I tried my hardest, that supervisor hated me and free slave labor isn't my thing so I quit.

I used to work at a call centre for a mobile phone insurance company

A woman called that her phone was damaged in a house fire. The thing is, so was the rest of her house.

Anyway, she wanted to claim insurance on her phone but if she did that, it would void her house insurance. She kept on insisting she wanted to claim on her phone even when I explained what happened to her house.

Long story short, I transferred her to a manager in the hopes that a second person explaining it would help her. I don't really know what happened after that but I sometimes catch myself thinking about it and just hoping she decided to leave her phone and priortise the home.

One customer didn’t understand that you can’t pay for something from a store in the bullring in ANY shop. Hun I don’t know how you’ve got that belt from tk maxx in this store but I sure as hell cant put it through the till for you. After about 20 minutes of explaining I got someone to take her round to TKMAXX and put her in a queue.

The general public never fail to amaze me. I have to deal with all sorts.

A flat white coffee came flying past my head
A red hot flat white
He’d thrown it at me!
We banned him and after a lot of swearing he left

ten minutes later a man who claimed to be his dad came stomping in screaming that as his son had paid for his coffee he could do what they duck he liked with it’ ‘we need a bag up the a to lighten up’ ‘he owns our dads’ (!?!) ‘we’re just maccy staff rum’ And ‘we don’t matter and deserve to get burnt’
We banned him and last I saw of him the police where talking to him outside while he was wearing their finest handcuffs

I think I need a new job!

I finished my shift and my boyfriend came to pick me up
I’m just gonna chill at home until tomorrow and back to the grind I guess
Deffo gonna look for another job-£8.62 an hour is not worth this crap

I worked in a call centre for over 10 years so have some stories to tell. The one that sticks out the most though is running through a car insurance quote with a guy who was having a tank. He called regularly and everyone knew who he was and what he was doing but unless he was abusive (he told someone once that’s he’d “rum on their face”) or admitted what he was doing you couldn’t hang up on him.
