Customer service stories

I once worked in a jewellers, while working a Boxing Day shift (😭) a customer came stomping into store declaring I had ruined Christmas because the watch she’d been given wasn’t working. The winder was out.. all I had to do was push it back in & the second hand started ticking.
the amount of times this happened!!!
They act like I personally broke the thing just to ruin their Christmas. I appreciate it must be disappointing for your child to open a toy that’s not working but I’d always think “here’s a bright idea, before you put it away for wrapping, open it, check it, make sure it works, then wrap it. Problem solved”

I don't understand why click and collect has to be such a difficult thing for some shops. If they can't be bothered doing it, don't offer it!

Oooo what happened lol
I ordered something for click and collect from a department store.

I wandered over to the designated C&C area, only to find it shut with a sign directing customers to the checkout area.

So off to the checkout I went ... which was busy (I was 5th in line). When it was my turn to be served and I handed over my order confirmation + explained that the C&C area was shut, the lady at the checkout rolled her eyes and told me I'd have to wait while she served customers actually buying things - so I pointed out that I have actually bought things and paid for them too! So then she called for assistance and asked me to step aside.

A good 10 minutes passed, all the queues disappeared and the store was quiet. I asked the checkout lady if she could please call for assistance again, to which she rolled her eyes and said she was going on her break. There were no other checkouts open. No staff to be seen!

I rang the head office from my car but after 40 minutes of being on hold with constant, "Please wait - your call is important to us ..." gave up, and emailed the CE (address easily found via a Google search). I received an email from him this morning apologising and promising to look into the inefficiencies of this store. He said in the meantime, he's arranged for my C&C order to be sent to my home address free of charge - which was good of him.

---------------------

Last week, I did a C&C which promised to be ready within three hours; it wasn't. Why make promises you can't keep?

I actually received notification that the order couldn't be fulfilled just after the three hours were up, despite the website showing that stock was available at the time of my placing the order.

I drove to the store to see if I could find an alternative to what I wanted, only to see what I did want right there on the shelf - and there was plenty of stock available. I do understand that some stores dedicate so much of their stock to in-store purchases, and so much to online purchases, but it wasn't like I was buying a huge quantity. Anyway, I got what I wanted in the end but I've paid twice for it as the store hasn't yet refunded my credit card for the C&C order (the usual BS about processing times, blah blah blah), and I had to pay again to buy the stock from the store.

I'm a mental health nurse, I've seen and heard it all, to the point it is ALL boring now.

*I've had a patient throw boiling hot coffee and sugar on my scalp and burn apart of my scalp off. The payoff has made it half worth it though, lol.

*I refused to allow a patient off the ward for leave as she was clearly taking drugs before coming back onto the ward, her fella came in and threatened to smash my face in. I told him, "that's absolutely fine. I finish at 9 tonight." He GLARED at me, he didn't know what to say.

*had a patient who was a brass(prostitute) bite me, I required a tetanus.

*Had a patient piss all over me whilst trying to inject medication into her also had poo rubbed into my uniform by her. Which was nice.....

*** HUGE TRIGGER WARNING****

I cut a patient down from ligaturing(trying to hang herself) from her bedroom door, bare in mind she had been doing this for around 4 hours. I got pretty bored in the end, turned on my Netflix(night shift, was writing notes) she soon stopped as she wasn't getting attention.

Feel like I am just nursing people who are bad alcoholics or druggies or both.

I feel like this happens more often than not- when I shop on a brand’s website instead of Amazon where I found them, I regret it. They always have these offers that lure you in but once they have your credit card number they tend to go to town and it’s so hard to get them to act right. I purchased exercise bands this week and after I paid I was offered a second set for a huge discount. When I checked my email I saw they charged me the full price. I emailed straight away and they were hemming and hawing about whether they could set it straight. They made it out like it was my error but I remember the price I was quoted. Nobody impulse buys forty dollars worth at the checkout. They’re actual thieves these companies 😠
