I think the gps are risk averse because can you imagine if it was the other way round and they missed something vital - there’s already so many stories about people that went to tbe GP several times and got fobbed off, for it to turn out to be terminal cancer or something. I find that GPs seem to just be the gateway to specialist services, they don’t do much of the diagnosing themselves unless it’s a common ailment (in which case the person themselves probably knows what it is anyway).I also believe we need to sort GPs out. Every single time I was referred to the hospital to see a specialist by a GP ended up being a complete false alarm and GPs not doing their job properly. For example, was sent into A&E on an ambulance because the GP thought I had meningitis. It was just a bad tonsillitis. I had a “broken leg”, “broken arm”, “appendicitis”, “rheumatoid arthritis” (I was 20!) and “breast cancer” on top of that according to GPs that sent me to the hospital, each time it was a complete false alarm. I have no idea how much money was wasted by the NHS because GPs misdiagnose, sometimes without even seeing me (and that was pre-COVID).
We need to make sure that they are better qualified, perhaps. I don’t know what the answer is, really.
I like the Norway system (it’s what my friend that lives there told me, I don’t know how much of it is 100% correct). GPs there specialise in certain areas, so not just general for any ailment. You have 10 free visits to the GP per year, if you have more visits, you pay for them. If you have an underlying health condition, OAP or a child, the number of visits is unlimited. All the specialist care is free.

You can get rheumatoid arthritis at any age, it’s an autoimmune disease caused by your immune system attacking itself. It’s not wear and tear or old age, that’s osteoarthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile arthritis and psoriatic arthritis (which I have) and many others are inflammatory and aren’t just about pain in your joints....just wanted to explain that as you mentioned it in your post.I also believe we need to sort GPs out. I’d say avoid the news, but it’s next to impossible. You can’t go online, switch on your TV or speak to anyone without Covid popping up. I think that’s what gets to me most.Honestly find it so hard one minute you hear some positive news giving you hope then the next your told something else that feels like this is never going to end

They've always said we'll have to live alongside it but striking a balance could take forever ,there's no quick fix ...it's sickening .So now we have to worry about undiscovered varients. We can't live our lives on if buts and maybes!

Then they need to make their minds up. Either this vaccine helps or it doesn't. We're told daily how marvellous it is and how it can't be changed to suit different varients, so that suggests with how hopeful they are that we get freedoms back.They've always said we'll have to live alongside it but striking a balance could take forever ,there's no quick fix ...it's sickening .

This is just what they shouldn't do in my opinion. I can accept them changing their minds about restrictions as numbers change. But the decision on vaccine prioritisation should stay put, at least until they catch up with themselves.
