Me too!! My mum is struggling to a form a bond with her youngest grandchildI understand why is needs to be done and I'm still 100% following the rules but realistically how much longer can they keep families apart? It's absolutely crippling me to be honest.
Same I've had 4 tests. Always negative so must be common cold. Very snotty on all occasions... Lots of my colleagues have had colds too. This is what don’t understand! We’ve had the common cold four times since September!! Covid tested each time as I was baffled as to how we caught it!
I was the same , couple of the nurses had kids go back to school in September and then few of us caught colds of them at workSame I've had 4 tests. Always negative so must be common cold. Very snotty on all occasions... Lots of my colleagues have had colds too.
Someone was on here a few days ago that said the care home their dad works in ( he's a chef ) had their jabs on Dec 19th and everyone was very ill including 9 staff , they all were tested beforehand (plus weekly tests ) so who knows .I think what would be interesting to know is how prevalent covid was in the homes before the jab, or what their covid stats were. Ie, had they suffered with large numbers previously.
I live in an area where we nearly topped the covid charts, yet I know of many homes that have managed to keep covid completely out of care homes, or only had isolated cases which they could control. So if they suddenly started to die after the first jab, or suddenly had high covid numbers then questions could be asked about the jab.
Let's not forget that care staff are tested very regularly, so if they're all coming back negative, where has covid and these deaths come from
I gave birth more or less a year ago , while suffering from a terrible cough ( which had lingered for a few weeks after having a fever) . I had to lie on a bed with a monitor on for about 24 hours before the birth . After I gave birth and was able to move around, I ended up coughing some clear liquid up( which reminded me of a family member when they had pneumonia )Before this pandemic we only swabbed women who were unwell during flu season. Routine testing on everyone was not done. Yes it's maternity.
They said they don't know how the new strain is being passed it could be anything ?Haha!! And stomach bugs!
Thing is we have had copious amounts of other respiratory illness, we can see that in the test results. For example say 400,000 people are being tested because they have symptoms and 30 odd thousand of them are coming back as covid. Surely that says that normal germs can be spread about regardless of distancing/ masks
I've never caught a cold this year although I put that down to being off work. My school aged child hasn't either, so the measures must make some difference. This is what don’t understand! It was a happy ending anyway they were so happy to see each other .Imagine coming out of hospital to this flooffy boy waiting for you
I would in this case XxMy best friend called me last night. Her daughter (who is my eldest's best friend) is really struggling with depression. She's 7 years old.
My daughter was the same during the first lockdown, became very withdrawn etc.
I am seriously considering letting the daughter come here for an hour one day.
7 year olds with depression is a very sad sorry state of affairs
I think in those circumstances nobody would judge you for allowing her to visit. You have to weigh up the risk of her visiting against the potential benefits to her and your daughter if she visits, it sounds like one of those situations where breaking the rules is worth it.My best friend called me last night. I could have cried when my mum went home at the start of the week as I have no idea when I’ll see her again. I can form a bubble cos of having a baby under 1, but with my boys off school and I don’t drive it’s not so easy to go and visitI understand why it needs to be done and I'm still 100% following the rules but realistically how much longer can they keep families apart? I'm not sure it would protect the prison officers they think it only protects the person that's had from getting Covid disease (in some cases )Yes I agree with what you say here, I mean I often wondered how many times prison officers probably get spit on.
It’s awful isn’t it. My 8 year old really struggled in the first lockdown with his mental health. My best friend called me last night. Her daughter (who is my eldest's best friend) is really struggling with depression. She's 7 years old.

Do it. My youngest was like this last year. Had never displayed any mental health Issues prior to lockdown. We did the same last year, she saw one of her classmates out of school one afternoon a week. Sometimes you just have to make the decision that you think is best. All I would say is be prepared for others to frown on your decision, we had some comments once we returned back to school. But I would do it again in a heartbeat if needs arise. Self preservation Is also important. My best friend called me last night. Her daughter (who is my eldest's best friend) is really struggling with depression. She's 7 years old.

I also believe we need to sort GPs out. Every single time I was referred to the hospital to see a specialist by a GP ended up being a complete false alarm and GPs not doing their job properly. For example, was sent into A&E on an ambulance because the GP thought I had meningitis. It was just a bad tonsillitis. I had a “broken leg”, “broken arm”, “appendicitis”, “rheumatoid arthritis” (I was 20!) and “breast cancer” on top of that according to GPs that sent me to the hospital, each time it was a complete false alarm. I have no idea how much money was wasted by the NHS because GPs misdiagnose, sometimes without even seeing me (and that was pre-COVID).Absolutely couldn't agree more!!! Everyone should see it as their duty to take strain off the NHS. They wouldn't be under so much pressure without Covid if people lived healthier. Everyone should look at their lifestyle and think of the pressure they put on the NHS now if something went wrong with them or in the future when you go down the drain. Two of the biggest pressures on the NHS are people who smoke and people who are overweight.
