Myself, partner and 4 kids all tested positive over a week ago, no symptoms in any of us except my 5 year old son had the most horrendous rash all over him, no temp and he wasn’t ill it was literally his skin. Is almost faded to nothing now. Seems like the symptoms are changing as none of us would’ve known we have it if it wasn’t for testing - and none of our temps have risen above 36.3
I've just tested positive too and had a very mild sore throat, no high temperature/continuous cough/lack of smell and taste. I almost didn't get tested because I usually get a sore throat and a cold every year when the weather turns colder. I guess my only other symptoms I can think of was being extra tired and having no appetite, but I came on my period the same day as I got my test so I blame my period for these other symptoms 😂

we can’t believe we were all positive - literally shocked - it’s almost 11 days and nothing so I guess we were all pretty asymptomatic

This is no way a dig at front line NHS who are only doing their best in the circumstances but I don’t understand why more capacity was not created in the last 6 months.

You have millions of unemployed - some with some first aid training like cabin crew etc that could have been fast tracked to create specialist roles to assist in ICU’s and work assist front line staff. Not perfect but would have provided more capacity and jobs.
weren't cabin crew drafted in to help at the start of lockdown in the Nightingale hospitals? But totally agree, we have had so much time to first prepare for COVID initially having had warning from Italy and Spain and now over the last 6 months. It is ridiculous

I've woken up today exhausted and with a sore throat, (a slight) temperature and really bad aching muscles.. everyone is saying I should get a test but I don't know if it is worth it (weirdly I have also just for my period lol). Was it difficult for you to get one?

I'm not sure what we could have done to prepare with the resources we have. Suspending elective care for a few months has set us back 1-2 years in terms of waitlists. We can't magic up more staff from nowhere. We are now reaping the consequences of years of central government 'management' of NHS services.

the sanitary towel thing is outrageous but to clarify at no point have sanitary products been “banned” - the welsh government have cocked up and not given clear guidance to shops on what they can/can’t sell. They have been quite clear that it’s up to the shops discretion on whether something is “essential” and clearly in this case some idiot male staff member decided those items weren’t essential. They are making a rod for their own backs here because all it does is turn people against WAG and the firebreak. They need to step up here and intervene because we’re currently a laughing stock.

According to that Tesco list batteries are non essential. Having walked into town this morning to get the battery that my husbands car requires for his keyless entry car key that his car has been nagging him about all weekend I beg to differ 😂
Not sure even as the boss that the " i can't come to work, I can't get in the car" excuse would wash for 17 days 🤔

I booked ours an hour before we went - was so quick and easy and painless

It would appear its a mistake on Tescos part, they need to be ashamed.

I would say most of those non essential ARE essential in a pandemic... Computers and stuff, especially if people have to work from home again and need one.

They are now saying they had only restricted access to the tampons due to an earlier break in at the store... sounds fake but ok!

...though tbh if it’s the Tesco’s I think it is, it wouldn’t surprise me 😂

A lot of them are essential, it’s shocking.

Again essentially punishing people without internet access whether that’s the elderly or those who can’t afford it (of which there are many in the UK).

Wouldn’t surprise me if they follow suit in England if we have a lockdown cos we love punishing poor people for being poor here 🙃

Were they trying to nick the tampons then? I don’t understand their reasoning😂

I don't know why they are so intent on pushing people buttons, this has been a hell of a year. People are poor, depressed, possibly grieving and they just want to push people that bit further, having to beg on twitter to Tesco's to buy sanitary items. Whoever told staff to section off those areas need to be pulled up and the Welsh government needs to withdraw all this nonsense asap. People are going to revolt, as they are starting to do and then we have no hope of ever controlling the situation again. I really feel for the staff in Wales right now, this isn't their fault and no doubt they are getting all the grief.

I can’t imagine what it must be like to be a supermarket worker in Wales right now. People will be upset and rightly so, but shelf stackers and checkout assistants have zero control over these things and quite frankly don’t get paid enough to deal with this tit.

All this just makes me soooo anxious. Seems to be worse than what it was at the start of lockdown. It doesn't help reading up because now I can't get the conspiracy theories out my head! I just want things to go back to normal. I'm scared that things are gonna get worse e.g. riots, crime. I hate that MPs get paid for doing duck all and they're fine letting children starve. Their priorities are fucked. Has anyone heard if there's another strain of covid? Cos I've heard of people getting it twice, and 2nd time is worse. Also, for those who have tested positive, how were the symptoms and recovery and how much has it impacted your health?

The supermarket-thinking behind all this is to get people in and out of their stores ASAP. But to do that they don't want people to wander about in the aisles clogging up the place. So in their way of thinking they've made quite a number of things that they think will slow people down, out of bounds.

It is just fortunate most of us have access to online shopping alternatives; but those that don't have to rely on neighbours or family for their supplies if they don't fancy going out themselves.

I hope Drakeford falls on his sword if this experiment fails - not that he will of course. But he is taking a huge risk and a leap of faith based on patchy scientific evidence.

I really feel for students. This is very unfair. I wonder will some leave early? They should have done remote classes at home ...the idea of people moving away. They needed more help in terms of dealing with pre signed leases.

I think that was part of the reason - but the overarching rationale behind this whole “essential” items debacle is that he wanted to create a level playing field. I would imagine several clothing/electronics retailers and other independent stores weren’t happy at having to close while large supermarkets could still sell those items and take their profit. Therefore he hatched some ridiculous scheme to ensure supermarkets can only sell items that you can get in other stores that aren’t closed. He has gone about it completely the wrong way, gave stores very little warning or information and is now saying that it can be stores’ discretion whether a non essential item is “essential” in exceptional circumstances. What a burden to place on shop staff, and what a horrible thing for someone to have to justify to some 19 year old shop assistant that they need bedding because they wet the bed for instance o_O

This is driving me mad! my family in Wales are having the same issue, the list of "essential" seems to be totally random, why have the govt not come up with a specific list?!

If I had any family members at uni right now, I would tell them to come home now, self isolate and stay home. They are absolutely not needed on campus and its a farce that they were manipulated into signing these leases with the belief everything would be in place for smaller face to face classes when in reality, they're not even in for ONE day anymore!!

Waiting lists are highest they have ever been. It is extremely busy with covid patients although no overflow of vented patients needed yet... they were mixing green & red patients on wards, so hospital acquired infections also through the roof. Staff sickness was over 900 ( including office, nurse, doctors, domestic and isolation people) over 3 merged hospitals. So they closing the clean silver hospital to relocate the staff. It’s a tit show tbh
The ward my sister works on is horrendous at the minute, I have her ringing me in tears after every single shift. 15 years she's worked on this particular ward and she said she's never ever known anything like it.
Staff off isolating or sick, they can't get the bank staff, hca's having to do 1 to 1 care as they have 2 nurses for 30 patients.
They've had people from red wards moved in to her green ward, staff being taken to work on the covid ward.
Her past 5 shifts she's not had a break, these are 12 hour shifts, last night she couldn't even have a drink and ended up working 2 hours extra to try and help the morning team.
They'll never staff the nightingales when they can't staff the current wards. I don't know why more isn't being said in the press about it.
I just hope all those people who disregard the rules constantly are aware there might not be a bed, nurse or dr to care for them or a family member in a few months.
