Where I live, diarrhoea is a listed symptom. There are more than three symptoms but for some reason the UK doesn't seem to include them. Very odd.

Diarrhoea is a recognised symptom but I think they’ve focused on the top 3 as they are most commonly present and therefore you are more likely to have the virus if you have one of the 3. I’m guessing it’s something to do with sensitivity/specificity and positive predictive values to rationalise test use. The yield of positive results you’d get if you swabbed people with diarrhoea only would be so low it wouldn’t be worth it

I'm in Wales and not expecting a huge drop in cases from this lockdown sadly, too many people are sick and tired of it and still not following the rules. And I said we'll probably have another in January.

Interesting article in this morning's Telegraph (paywall unfortunately) regarding thousands of British tourists heading for the few remaining "green list" holiday destinations in the Med for Half-Term.

Lots of chaos, confusion, frustration, anger from these "entitled" buffoons, blaming the governments here at home and abroad for their difficulties having to wait at airports and hotels at some Greek islands. And then they wonder why infections are rising back home, or that their particular island is now on the "watch list" and therefore they may have to look forward to 10-14 days of self-isolation on return.

Government has made a lot of blunders, as have most international governments, but one would have hoped for some common sense from its citizens at least.

Ive been attacked for saying this in the past, but I will continue to say it. People going on holiday abroad at the moment are selfish and entitled. I love foreign travel, it’s one of my favourite things to do and gives me immense joy, but I wouldn’t dream of booking anything for the foreseeable future. Im amazed at how many people feel entitled to a holiday. You only have to go to mumsnet to see this attitude, ‘I need a holiday’. No, you want a holiday. You won’t die if you don’t go away for a few months. Get over it.

Ah, you see, the UK is very odd. Don’t even get me started on the free school meals hoohar, or the world beating, test, track and trace system.

I read today that the cost of this school meals thing would amount to something like 1% of what has (so far) been spent on Brexit. I am furious as, regardless of your views on Brexit, I am sure most of us(outside this god awful govt) know what we would rather want our tax money spent on

I agree, the sense of entitlement is baffling, if you really "must" go away why not go somewhere local?! ok the weather here is tit but there are still lots of nice places to visit where you don't have to fly and can easily distance

Most people are lucky in that's something they'll never have to experience they're all tucked up at home ...hat's off to all the healthcare workers.

Unfortunately a lot of people have not been using common sense, and that's what makes me angry. They just think they can do what they want and they won't be affected.

But it's the anguish and waiting when they return home, go to work or school, and pass it on to others. My daughter's work had to send whole departments home when two people tested positive last week, and since then another three positives, and she had to cancel her four day break with her boyfriend just in case, even though she had tested negative. She's bored sit, but is sticking to the rules.

Mind you, I can't understand why the government is allowing people to travel abroad. Numbers will never go down if this continues.

I get they have worked hard, but lots of hotels and spas etc in the U.K. are doing deals for NHS staff members. They don’t need to go abroad.

exactly and its not just the UK they are harming, idon't think it is coincidence pretty much all of the common European destinations have rapidly rising cases, the only place in Europe apparently with reducing cases is Finland

They will be socialising together, the owners are not bothered! I’m flabbergasted how irresponsible people are! One of the party shielded for months due to only having one kidney; another is a teacher. In amongst it also are kids who spend half the week with their mother and the second half of the week when at home living with their Dad and his parents who are 70+.

Never mind we’re not supposed to be mixing with people indoors who don’t live with us, travelling out of the county or having overnight stays - they’re all sick of the conflicting advice and just need a break away!! It’s no wonder we are in the state we’re in x

Someone I know who Is a hairdresser and who’s whole thing lately has been about how they will come into the homes of vulnerable people to cut their hair, went to a pub with 4/5 other people all from multiple households. We’re in tier 2 area so we are only allowed to meet people from different households outside. Is it just me or is that irresponsible? Not only breaking the rules, but then going into the homes of vulnerable people who expect you to have been taking all necessary precautions to keep them safe whilst you provide a service. Just doesn’t sit right, the virus won’t be going anywhere whilst people are being so careless.

I’m assuming she is wearing full ppe while cutting hair though? It’s irresponsible yes but even if she went to the pub with her own household only she is still at risk just from being in the same vicinity as others. Plus what about nurses who have kids at school who are mixing together? I understand your point and this lady is clearly breaking the rules... but as someone who also works with vulnerable people I tied myself up in knots feeling guilty for doing things that were “allowed” (such as going to the gym or supermarket) and panicking that my PPE wasn’t actually doing it’s job. It is so hard to be able to leave work behind and have a balance as it is, let alone feeling like every time I have some semblance of a social life at the weekend (pre tier system!) I’m going to essentially become the grim reaper on Monday
