I had to piss about and make a new gateway account to even apply for it as it wouldn't accept our existing government gateway account as it was for a business 🙄
Yeah it had to be done on your personal one, it’s not a business payment.

are you furloughed or are you wanting to take unpaid leave? From a business perspective i suppose they dont have much choice if they need staff in for the ratios they either have to get the current staff back in or hire new ones. Especially with childcare settings having to re open in June they cant do so without the right amount of staff. They should try to work with you to find a compromise though. Hopefully when you get the call from management they will be able to help further 🤞🏼 Try not to worry, im sure most employers will try to work with not against their staff.
I’m furloughed atm, I do get that but it’s just another added worry, I wanna get back to work but I can’t compromise the health of my mum. My boss said yesterday it depends on what all questionnaires say as to whether we can defo open or not, but ideally they need to as my manager explained to me that regardless of if schools reopen or not they will still receive funding but If nurseries don’t we loose all funding for which means no one will have a job, it’s such a tough one

While we’re on the topic of covid wards being created and not used,
And to cheer the U.K. people up.....

the Irish tax payers will pay €115 million a month to private hospitals...

for 2,600 beds (€44,000 per bed)

which are not needed 😐

but they signed the contract so we’re all screwed 😬

(NHS is paying £72m for 8,000 beds (approx €10,000 / bed)

I was only half watching the briefing as I was playing with my daughter but from what I heard, furloughed staff can get another job?

Is this true? I’ve just been wondering about maybe looking for something that I can do from home to keep me busy. But not looked into it as I didn’t think I could. An old coworker of mine recently messaged me with a remote job that they have available as I posted something that made her wonder if I was struggling. I wasn’t going to but this now makes me wonder if it would be okay?

I need something to keep my mind busy and hopefully get my mental health back on track..

Yeah anyone who's been furloughed can get another job - and still claim the furlough money. Same applies for the self employed who trades are affected. They can seek employment elsewhere and still get another income while benefiting from the grant.

You cant work for your current employer x

I am not sure on this. I think it might depend. The furlough agreement that I signed specifically says that I cannot work another job.

Thats interesting. The government has said everyone can seek alternative employment whilst on furlough when they were looking for farmer/fruit picker jobs etc.

Oh awesome thank you.
I might go for it then.

That’s why I didn’t think I could as some people have said they signed an agreement that said they couldn’t, but I never even signed an agreement...

My friend who got furloughed didn’t sign an agreement but the points in his employment contract were reiterated. He has to be available to work his normal contracted hours (9-5) and cannot work for a rival company. Could be that you still need to abide by your contract

There's a meeting tonight with the finance ministers north/south to discuss the track/trace app among other things? The airports and businesses that have been furloghed have no rates to pay here for the entire year ..That will cost a fortune ,how they're going to recoup that I'll never know .

😂
When typing the word where into Google, the first suggestion is where is Boris Johnson 😂View attachment 133915
Broadmoor stood out for me 😂

I believe as long as it isnt stated in your employment contract/furlough terms you can work elsewhere. Check first though as you'll be in breach of contract if you do take another job and are prohibited from doing so :)

We won’t ever have a full lockdown in the UK
I can’t ever see us going back into one at all, we can’t take this blow to the economy over and over again.

I think we'll only go back towards full lockdown if the NHS is close to being overwhelmed.
I’m with you. How is education and socialising pointless for kids ?

I see why people say it's pointless.. wait till September.
But for me it really isn't, my daugthers been home since march, the only place she has been is out for walks. It will do her so much good even if it is a few weeks then back off again, we saw her best mate out in the park at the weekend and her mood lifted so much seeing him for those 10 mins at a distance.

I feel like we've only just stopped talking about the credit crunch...will be covid crunch now!

I think Boris has furloughed himself.

can someone give him a text and tell him that’s not how it’s meant to work please?
