Does anyone else find that a bizarre headline?

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but if I want to tell my friends something, I call, text, Whatsapp or email them. I don't use Facebook to do it. If that lady has friends she only communicates with via Facebook then I'd say they're not friends...
You are being a bit too literal here. People you add on Facebook are called friends it doesn't mean they are your close friends 🤣
---
They were shutdown for spreading misinformation, though. So many people try to give out medical advice online that could harm others.

And I know we can become friends with people we met online, but I would expect to share contact details with those people before considering them friends.

Do you still believe it's misinformation that people were injured and dying? Most of us thought it was at the time but now even the most blind among us have to see people were blocked from sharing what the vaccine had done to them, we were lied to and told not to believe these people.

Surely what you should be questioning from that headline is Why has Facebook censored her?

Would you question the "facebook friendships" validity on the probably millions announcing on FB that 'i had my covid vaccine'?

Most people didn't care or question that others were prevented from voicing concerns. Some people still don't care or even realise they were lied to. It's like living in two different realities when in a room with both types. Even showing them all the now verified truth, it still doesn't change their thinking.

What was once deemed "misinformation" then is now accepted as fact today. I've posted multiple examples of this. Those who are injured were gaslit. Told they didn't know their own bodies and that they were lying about their experiences.

One side only being allowed to talk is never a good thing.

Dr Sara Kayat also gave out incorrect information on This morning that could have harmed people.

This has also aged well.

Not sure I agree regarding the first part of your post. I think they'd have termed it as "contacts" if they mean friends in the way you're describing (ie in Facebook jargon). The headline is making it sound like she wasn't able to tell personal friends her news. Which - like I say - seems a bizarre complaint.

I believe some people were injured by vaccines. I always said that absolutely no medication is risk free. Never has been, never will be. That's a sad fact. We can all react differently to medication, as we're all unique. But I think some people have massively overstated the impact and have incorrectly linked the vaccine to medical complaints experienced afterwards.

For example, I'm sure we all heard about athletes having undiagnosed heart disease prior to the covid vaccine. The most well known example is Fabrice Muamba. To those who aren't aware, he had a heart attack and collapsed on the pitch during a football game. That was in 2012, so we can be confident that the covid vaccine didn't cause his heart attack. Yet I'm pretty sure if it had happened post the covid vaccine, people would have been posting online that it was definitely down to taking the vaccine with no evidence that he even had the jab.

That's what I believe Facebook and other platforms are trying to stop. It's irresponsible to spread that kind of rhetoric without cast iron proof. I can understand Facebook not wanting to be party to that. And why should they be? They own the site, so they get to make their rules.

It's a bit like how you rightfully get final say on who can enter your home. It's your house, so your rules.

Well, no, because "I had my covid vaccine" is a factual statement. No issue there. But some try to take it a step further and post unverified claims with a view to besmirching the entire vaccine and warn others off taking it. And for me that's crossing a line.

No one should be co-erced in either direction. Take it if you want, don't take it if you don't want. But don't try to tell others what to do using a private company's servers.

The right misinformation (pro vaccine) was allowed all over Facebook resulting in ,you could argue ,harm for many but it seems even now stating any negative experiences along with proven facts of side-effects is still the wrong "misinformation ".
Some people will never see.

I'm a little confused here. Do you really believe she was talking about close friends? who thinks about FB and thinks that? they are called FB friends, it says add friends. people share to their friends but not all close friends. I share loads on my FB to my "friends" half of whom I have never even met or spoken on the phone with, they are people I met along the way on other places online.
Why with all the info coming out this is what you are posting about. Why not be angry that she was not allowed to post about her injury? Only on the wording of some articles she didn't write. Why are you also posting about someone who died before COVID as if that explains 1000s of young people dying now?
We shut down the world over mostly very old and ill people dying, something that happens every winter. Do you not read any of the new information that comes out? The vaccines didn't work they made things worse, Masks didn't work. keeping us all isolated didn't work it made things worse. all this is info out now from the same science that had many crying in fear, wearing masks having vaccines and keeping away from those they loved. Why were we made to only see and hear some scientists but not others? Then we have Fauci flip-flopping all over the place, mask don't work, yes they do work, no they don't work. Masks always were a magic feather to make people feel safer.
Why are you not angry? or are you just not taking all this new information on board? if this all starts up again and its very much looks like it, will you still do everything the same and believe what they tell you or will you look deeper than the TV or newspapers whose job it seems is to keep us all living in fear?

Do you not look back and think I can't believe I actually did that?
It's okay to eat in a pub but not to just drink.
It's okay to go to the supermarket but not your local business (which are now all closed or closing)
you can sit in a pub or restaurant without a mask but not stand.
you can walk around the park or beach but not sit
I went on holiday with my family, only one family in the pool at a time but 100s of us sat to eat at mealtime
This list could go on and on with the stupid things we believed and did to be safe.

There needs to be a thread on it! one we can read when X hits us 🙄

Remember a pork pie or a mask can save you there is no difference you can wear one or eat the other and be safe 🙄

This is what is worrying me are we so dumbed down that we cannot take on board any new evidence? I read something about that a long time ago can't remember the quote but it is about not being able to take on new evidence once something is ingrained in our thinking.

People use social media in different ways. I don't add anybody as a friend who I don't know in real life and isn't at the level I'd go out socially with and would always use other methods to tell them anything important. Other people use it to collect contacts.

Yes, I have family who use it like you do we all use it how suits us best but I don't say only my way is the only way. Why are we talking about Facebook friends though?
All that is going on right now and someone scrolls past all this new information and points out they don't believe someone because why would you need to share with "friends" on Facebook? They would do it via other means as in WhatsApp or email what is the difference? That person might only have family and close friends on her Facebook (unlike me as I'm a Facebook hoe )

This reminds me of when someone posts a reasoned well thought out post and someone points out a spelling mistake. it's irrelevant but the whole thread gets taken off course with those who are arguing for or against grammar police

They also said their home their choice, I see porn, spam and many other things all the time on Facebook and report it and Facebook tells me no guidelines are being broken but someone isn't allowed to share the fact they were injured by a medical procedure to their own page and they think that is right.

Honestly, I just can't with this thread so much really good information and it gets derailed by what someone called their "contacts" on Facebook. Maybe that is the intention though.

And Facebook and other social media were allowing people to tell others to have the vaccine. Allowing their users to call people who chose not to have 1 new vaccine "antivaxxers".
To claim it was 100% effective etc etc

My post was in response to the discussion about a headline seeming confusing. Facebook taking down my posts about anything wouldn’t limit my ability to tell anybody anything as I wouldn’t use it for sharing in that way, just general funnies and low level stuff. I’d always rather speak to people in person or on the phone. Then again, I’m old. If that’s the way that you use social media (and by far the majority of people I know use it similarly) then I the headline would seem odd. That obviously doesn’t mean people can’t share information in other ways but I find a lot that I do see (from all view points) is very one sided and lacking in factual information but can make you think.

The frequent arguing got the covid vaccine thread shut down, and one poster hasn't been seen since. So mission accomplished.

If you put the focus on who you share with on facebook, you can ignore:

-the DNA contamination story,
-the new link with GBS,
-positive seizure markers in under 5's.
-The recent talk from doctors at Kyoto University.
-Dr Dalgleish's oncology warnings.
-Reduced immunity with increased vaccine doses being acknowledged.
-Israel's' vaccine poster child passing away because of a heart attack at 8.
-The theory of long covid being associated with the vaccines.

As least we have disease X to look forward to. :ROFLMAO:

I love this quote from Game of Thrones : "Let me give you some advice, bastard. Never forget what you are, the rest of the world will not. Wear it like armour and it can never be used to hurt you. "

After three years I could care less about being called a anti vaxxer now. When my brother had a reaction to his second Pfizer vaccine dose, I only found support on the conspiracy theory thread, and I'm so grateful for those oddballs.

Imagine also being called a conspiracy theorist, for believing a vaccine ( that has skipped the usual 10-15 years of research and testing ) may not be as safe as proclaimed. .

Exactly! Look how much people share on here and we’re all anonymous, FB is just another message board like every other SM platform, if those that felt they were vaccine injured want to discuss it should be their right ,just like every other group that seek support for their particular disease/ ailment , many of these people were left to get on with it ignored by the medical profession who themselves were unsure and afraid to voice their own concerns Incase the gov/ media piled onto them…All whilst No 10 partied and ignored their own rules , made up lies that some still believe to this day and will forever champion …Guess we know who was really brainwashed 😂
