It's such a shame the world is controlled by evil "people" .. imagine the good if it were not. I used to watch a programme called Tormorows world it was all about future tech and how we humans would have so much leisure family time due to only having to work so many days a week and only so many hours in those days because robots would be doing most of the work.. We would have no poverty

instead, it's been used to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. The poor have to work harder and longer just to eat and have a home.

This is why people have to wake the F up because this future isn't for us it's only for the very rich, the well off will get poorer. we will have a tiered society they show us this in many futuristic films. Here is just two of them.

Elysium

In time

I do have faith in the great awakening as seeing it before my very eyes. once you wake up to one thing, you seem to wake up to it all.
There is a theory that though robots we will achieve true socialism. Robots will do everything so everything will be free and people can just spend their time on lesire.

But, the 40 hour working week was designed to give a person purpose. It was believed that if people have too much time on their hands it would be bad for them.

Personally, I think people do need jobs and/or purpose. But the 40 hour week is too much and no one should have to work when they have kids. Raising children should be valued.

In my perfect world everyone would work around 20 hours doing something that adds value to their life. And would have enough to live comfortably.

The road to robots doing everything would also be very long. And during that transition you would have mass poverty and the rich getting richer. if that is a society we are aiming towards, we need to take money out of the hands of the rich and give an income to everyone. Once the robots are doing everything, you would still need human politicians and decision makers. So who are those people, what do they get for their labour? And those that are the richest now, do you think they want everyone to have the same standard of life as them, or do they like their exclusivity. Being rich isn't just about money, it's being the elite and not having to mix with the plebs. Those people have the power and they will never allow a world were everyone can be well off and free.

Anyone seen that article in DM about flawed pcr tests making people believe covid outbreak was worse than it was...and how the "conspiracy theories " are probably right.
Again.
I prefer to think of it as people who think for themselves.

elsewhere I can't believe people are still testing, if they don't have to.
There was a post on my local FB page asking if people were still keeping kids home from school if they test positive but aren't ill.

Why are you testing your kids when they are not even sick!!!

That's your perception and you're welcome to it! I don't agree with everything, but I don't believe in living in an echo chamber.
I think the same could be said for those that are terrified of covid and shout ‘trust the science!’ ‘Wear a mask’ ‘get vaxxed’ they live in an echo chamber.

I've had too many friends die of covid or long covid so I'm avoiding getting a second infection. A friend nearly lost her leg due to blood clots after covid (she was unvaxxed). I like my masks, they're comfortable and I enjoy them. I think as for vaxxs, everyone needs to make up their own mind. I listen to my friends in the science community but also question what they say and medical research.

This thread is far from an echo chamber imo .
It's just that if we don't believe something we ususally respectfully scroll on.
The clue is in the title

Not directed at anyone, but when I see non elderly people with masks still on now I think they must be a bit of a nob.

Everyone gave it the big I am because they are protecting others by wearing a mask. But litrially no one has them on now. So what, your still wearing a mask to protect others, when no one cares anymore? It's virtue signilling to the highest degree.

And does anyone really believe they actually stop covid. Come on. They were used as a visual reminder of the pandemic, a type of psychological control.

I like smiling at people, my husband is quite deaf in one ear, old and young like to communicate with facial expressions . So many people only have contact with others at shops or cafes. Masks hindered this.
Personally I hate masks and what they do to society

Fair enough each to their own but do you still believe that thin piece of cloth is actually protecting you?

No, tshirt material and cotton are ineffective. KN95s are proven much more effective at preventing covid transmission under peer reviewed studies, and I avoided it for two years until my neighbour caught it (we share a hallway, and I don't usually mask up in the hallway). I wear kn95s now.

I will say that even the thin masks did wonderfully at preventing me from catching a cold at back to back conventions in the autumn when I was meeting upwards of 300+ people a day, events I normally get an awful cold or flu from. So that was a nice side effect.

When the outbreak first started I believed that masks and lockdowns were a good idea and wore mine religiously. I even had panic attacks in one but I couldn't take it off as I was in class.

I have't worn one for months, but I still occasionally get eye pain from time to time which I know is from the prolonged wearing + combined with wearing glasses.

If you want to wear one do it but don't expect others to do as you do. My younger 19 year old sister was intimated into putting one on by an angry man shouting at her. I would have told him to **** off personally .

You're so right. I actually struggle to understand people with mask on and I won't bother to try and talk to anyone that wears one. I've got little ones and it was so isolating going to groups when everyone had a mask on because no one speaks to each other, and mother and baby groups are just as much about the mums getting out and socialising as they are for the kids.

I'll keep enjoying my fresh air and sun on my face, and the ability to smile and be social with others. I wonder how many of the mask brigade will carry on now it's getting sunny.

No one should be yelling at anyone to wear a mask.

I wear mine in 40C weather, it's not really a problem.
