They always say they don't want anything and that seeing their children/grandchild happy is enough. I get it, I do, but they do so much for me. Il probably just end up getting the usual bath bomb/gin combo

I feel the same about my parents- they do so much for me I don’t know how I can thank them. However, lol, they do like eating out and go with friends, so I was thinking of getting them a voucher for a nice restaurant, could you do the same?

Was looking at winter wonderland but only going for the day and will likely do some shopping so need places where you can take bags

Officially finished yesterday! I say this but I know I’ll probably think of something else I want to buy for someone. I’m making hampers for the grandparents and the basket is quite big so we’ll see if I’ve got enough to fill it or need to buy more goodies

I’ve got a stackers jewellery box and love it - you can add different layers with different set ups depending on what you need to store. They have so many accessories and storage ideas but be sure to always look out for sales, can’t say I’ve bought anything full price on there - it quite be quite pricey

Not yet just got a couple more to buy. I did however manage to get some in the black Friday sales so I was pleased about that!

Anyone else struggle to hone in on what you want your kids Christmas to be? I always overbook like 8 grottos and try to shoehorn in every decoration style and every tradition I like and we all end up exhausted and unwell by Boxing Day

Good morning - I’ve seen a few people talking about lights & sights in London - here are a few of my favourites from this year.
1. Peggy’s cupcake parlour (Ebury street nr Victoria station)
2. Annabels balloon (Berkeley square)
3. Covent Garden tree
4. Reading books tree with audible book nooks at St Pancreas
5. Platform 9 3/4 tree at Kings Cross station
6. Santa sleigh at Covent Garden
7. Dancing puddings in Fortnum & Mason
8. Koyn car in Mayfair on Grosvenor street

I went to London last weekend and saw a lot of what’s mentioned above, it was all so pretty.

I’ll add Carnaby Street, Neals Yard/Seven Dials Market and The Churchill Arms.

Then if you’re anywhere near Battersea, the power station is well worth a visit. It looked absolutely beautiful with all of the lights up inside. Very festive.

I've done the majority, but still waiting on my nephew & neices' Christmas lists. I also need to decide which M&S hamper I'm getting for my aunt & family - the one I usually get has gone up by £10 because this year it's in a wicker basket instead of a cardboard box

8 Grottos? wow thats a lot they only need to visit one. Maybe you could research the best grotto to save you visiting so many. As for every decoration style just pick one you like and maybe let the kids decorate their own mini trees. Garden centres are quite good for different decoration styles so maybe you could take the kids there and then they could see different styles to save you trying to do them all.

Yes and I think social media plays a massive part in this. Its taken me many years to try and sort it out.

We do panto visit, one grotto visit, one cinema visit (if there is something decent we want to see, usually Christmas Eve or 23rd if kids are off school) then we do family movie nights saturdays in December with popcorn and snacks.

Make cookies on the 24th we also try to fit in one garden centre visit to each pick one new decoration for the tree each year.

Most of the Christmas experiences seem to be to impress the adults rather than the kids. I prefer to see free/ small donation Santa's ( we saw a charity one on a bus last year)

I try to do little traditions with the kids but a lot of the time they don't seem bothered.

Tried the McDonald’s Christmas menu for lunch. The big cheesy burger wasn’t that great but the cheese melt dippers and chocolate Galaxy McFlurry were delicious! Oh and my daughter loves her Christmas Paddington in her happy meal.
