I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that I’ve taken up crochet this year and was looking forward to making some bits for Christmas.
Can confirm I’m having a great time and wanted to share.
Like I know they’re not amazing or anything but I’m still so proud

The first two pictures are things to put around the house and the last one is gifts I’ve made for people

I bought my xmas tree this year from Christmas tree world and I got it in the sale £99.99 down from £250! I didn’t expect it to be this big and bushy, I bloody love it

We don’t have pigs in blankets. We have stuffing balls wrapped in bacon and oh my god they are the best thing about the dinner. We get them really crispy too.

you just get a strip of streaky bacon, a dollop of stuffing then roll it up. They end up looking a bit like this.

Does anyone prefer the run up to Christmas vs actual Christmas? I love this period then just seem to eat on Christmas Day and it goes by in a flash

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion.. and I’m sorry if I offend anyone, but I cannot stand the Grinch, he can go in the bin along with gonks and elf on the shelf..

I LOVE Christmas decs like this, in the battered boxes that come out every year

I saw a TikTok the other day that said with the new way/trend of doing themes and different decs every year, kids are losing that special nostalgia of seeing the same decorations every year that once you’re an adult help to signify Christmas…and it really hit me in the feels

my mum has a pair of bells, basically 2 bits of an egg box covered in shiny paper and threaded with wool that go on the tree every year. My brother made them in the early 80’s when he was about 5/6, sadly he died 20 years ago. So take your themed Christmas that is killing the planet and give me good old family memories and a mid-matched tree any day.

Anyone else just super excited for Christmas? I bloody love it, favourite time of year, had my Christmas album on since October done all my shopping but knowing me I’ll end up buying more I just have so much joy buying things for my son and knowing how happy he’ll be xmas day!

My partner is a submariner in the navy and is away at sea atm and could be due home fingers crossed on 22nd December if their deployment goes to plan and I just know how happy it will make our littlen one when he’s back at christmas!

Please cross your fingers everyone that he’s home in time for Christmas instead of January!

My dad was very clever and won a scholarship to a very good school but had to leave and get a job to support his family.
He was determined I would get a good education. Every Christmas he bought me a present just from him, something he would have loved when he was young.
Presents included..a maths kit in a tin, a fountain pen, a pocket French dictionary, a chemistry set

Personally I don't think it's fair to make someone without kids work over Christmas just because they don't have kids

I make them wait on the stairs so I can check he's been (even the 15 year old ) it builds the excitement. I go turn lamps on, let the dog out, take the yearly photo of them on the stairs then let them loose. Watching on standby with bin bags, scissors and batteries

As soon as I turned 16 and started working I always hated that the older people with kids took priority for time off, I felt it was unfair as I was someone’s kid too and my parents wanted to see me on Xmas, also my bday is on Xmas day and it annoyed me everyone else got to have their birthdays off. My work used to also hire Christmas temps and half of them would then say they can’t work xmas- happened every year so people who were loyal to the company for years had to work- but people that were hired specifically for xmas got it off Thankfully my job now means I get xmas off, but I appreciate it every single year due to the years that were ruined working every minute of December, xmas and new year if people choose not to have kids it doesn’t mean they don’t have other family they’d like to see and should have to work every xmas to accommodate others familys! (Years of rage coming out!)

Baby fudge is only 12 days old but I can’t wait to be the mum ready with the bin bag just like my mum was and still is
