I've never sure!) her whole life; indulged by her parents no doubt living a very charmed, wealthy, pampered life, and then married a wealthy man to continue living in that lifestyle. People that have lived that kind of life take offence at the slightest thing and construe any comment that doesn't suck up to them as someone 'being mean to them'.
