Yeah my husband is the one who cooks 90% of the time, when my dad found out he had a right go at me. Apparently my life's too easy
Same happened here, despite the fact I do most of the housework and my husband is a professional chef so it makes more sense for him to cook! If I were, say, a gardener would someone respond "but that's a MAN'S job, make him do the lawn"?

Maybe don’t bring food out and about that needs warming up? Where did you think you were going to warm it? I don’t want disgusting mashed banana or dripping purée or whatever warmed in the same cafe microwave as my toastie thanks :)
I used to work in a cafe and we weren't allowed to heat anything for people in casenit was too hot and they injured themselves, wasn't hot enough and they got food poisoning etc. Basically it's a huge risk!

If people wanted bottles warming for babies we had to put a bowl of water by the till and they stand there while it rests in it to warm up!

Why is it different when it’s a baby as well - shall I just try rocking up to Pret with a ready meal and ask them to warm it up for me because it only takes a minute? Mental

Good point! Someone (maybe one of the never ending ‘city workers who became a parent and saw a gap in the market’) should open a chain of reeeally kid friendly restaurants, so proper restaurants can be peacefully child free.

You’d have to pay (plus tip) the staff SO much more for dealing with all the crayon-dropping, fish-finger-smearing, meltdown-having clientele (kids prob q bad too 😜).

Good morning my fellow child-free folk, what are we all up to this weekend? I'm enjoying lazing in bed with some tea and deciding what I want to do today... I'd like to get some batch-cooking in but that's a slow cooker job and is nice and easy.

sounds lovely 💙

i’m about to go and get a nice coffee (i might take a microwave dinner with me and ask them to heat it up) and then need to get the rest of my dollars, some adaptors, various toiletries for my trip next week. meeting some friends for food and drinks later (again, might take a dinner and ask the restaurant to microwave it for me).

planning to have a nice lie in with my book tomorrow before i finally start packing!

I hope you're not going to an adults-only resort, donchaknow it's not a holiday if you can't revel in the cacophony of screaming kids!

(On a more serious note - loving your weekend plans!)

Morning everyone! I have some crafts to do, then I might catch up on some reading, head out for a cocktail with my husband and then go to the cinema <3

Went our drinking with my husband last night and we are currently slobbing about in PJs with a mild hangover. Will do a bit of housework later then probably go out for a nice long walk somewhere. Then home to cook dinner, will probably open a bottle of Prosecco and maybe even go out for more drinks later!

Did all my shopping first thing while it was still quiet, just finished breakfast and now we'll get showered and changed to head into town. Going to the art museum followed by lunch, a few pubs, maybe casino later.

Tomorrow do nothing haha except a load or two of laundry and order a curry for dinner.

Had a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel for breakfast, watching the Aus Open Women's Singles Final and thinking about pottering about in the garden this afternoon.

Had a cup of tea in bed, then bit of brekkie. Got a fellow childfree couple over for a picky dinner tonight (known as piggy bits in my house!) So need to clean and tidy in preparation.

Downstairs is done, so time for another cuppa and some fortnum and mason biscuits leftover from Xmas.

Then hoover up the stairs, clean the bathroom and then quick change and off to M&S to get our piggy bits.

i’m going to vegas so god knows there had better not be babies, boddlers, toddlers of any variety in my vicinity while i consume margaritas 🤣 you’re right though, how can i experience joy without hearing the laughter of children :(

in coffee shop right now and a woman approached the till with a jar of baby food. i thought if she asks for that to be microwaved i am going to LOSE it. alas, she did not 🤣

I’m chilling in bed with my coffee (a nice homemade caramel latte since it’s the weekend. I can leave my moka pot on the stove without things going all paediatric A&E). Then it feels like the kind of Saturday for an episode of Poirot on the ITV Hub (things are getting wild I know). I’ve got a bag of stuff for the charity shop but I’m not sure I can be arsed going out, and also every time I’ve been passed lately the shutters have been stuck down and the shop surrounded by shutter engineers 😂 it’s a Save the Children, ironically enough.

I had a lie in till 11am as work has been so stressful this week! Brekkie cooked by husband and now we have put the log burner on and slobbing on the sofa in pjs, we are going to nip to the butchers later and pick something up for dinner, pub stop on the way home and back on the sofa for movies while drinking wine bliss!!

You'll be surprised as to just how many people think Vegas is an acceptable place to take your kids to! I cannot understand why anyone would do that but there are strollers everywhere!

Also have fun, Vegas is amazing!

OMG this reminds me of a holiday I took many years ago where we spent a couple of nights in Vegas. We watched an outdoor show featuring some pirates and scantily-clad women dancing etc. One dimwit woman in my group said, "This is really inappropriate, there are kids here!"

Lady. It was 11.45pm. If families chose to take their kids out onto the streets of Las Vegas around midnight, the responsibility of propriety lay at their feet.

I’ve had a brew in bed courtesy of the husband.

I’ve just had my eyebrows waxed and now I’m waiting for my hair cut & washed in the hairdressers.

I think we will go out for tea later!

Lazy Saturday here.
Went to the beach with the dog earlier.
Husband is watching Race of Champions and then the Formula E later.
I might catch up with some work shortly.

We've just decided to go out for the afternoon tomorrow to the cinema and for pizza. No babysitters required!
