I agree that her lack of friends in the industry (and in general) is telling. Not that not having friends is bad, but in Carrie's case I do wonder how she spent all those years at Les Mis without forming any meaningful friend/relationships with the dozens of performers she must have shared the dressing room and stage with. She has been in quite a few shows and I never got the feeling that there was a cast that particularly liked her. Maybe she's super awkward, or maybe she's just as judgmental and entitled as her online persona suggests. Plus, she has NO real love for musical theatre just for what SHE gets out of it (applause and fame).
And again, the disclaimer: this is not a dig at people without friends in general, just at Her Royal Highness Queen "I literally Carrie Hope" Fletcher :D
I agree. Even if you're very shy, introverted, or just don't like spending time with others, the people you work with will form opinions of you

!! this - I'm autistic and don't paticualrly like socialising at work but y'know its the workplace you're there more than you are at home, just grin and bear it, make nice with the people you're working with then sulk when you're home! especially in the theatre world where everyone knows everyone and stories travel even if you don't like someone you have to work closely and share a dressing room with them!

But then friends she had at the time, like Celinde was in Les Mis with her and they seemed to be really close at the time but they haven't really hung out a whole deal since? Whereas Celinde posts on her IG/stories a lot about Rob (who was also in les mis with them both). Just kinda seems a bit odd to me that a lot of thr cast are still close but not Carrie? Maybe I'm reading too much into it and carries just too busy or maybe shes just a private person and doesn't post on her stories when they hang out...

Carrie did mention them both in her marathon vlog though 🤔🤔🤔

I can reliably tell you that those training have no time for her at all. She gets a hard eye roll.

She must feel threatened by properly trained actors. Especially women who are properly trained. Iirc, her only female friends in the industry are Celinde and Mollie. Other than that, she’s friends with mostly males.
And I bet the other cast members have to resent her a bit since she’s obviously stunt casted in shows whereas they had to put in hard work to get where they are.

Just came across this really well worded video on tiktok about Carrie and stunt casting. The comments from hopefuls all saying how dare you be so hateful our carrie is TALENTED 😡😡 lmao
but also non surprisingly so many theatre working people in the comments saying how much of a diva she is to work with
She nailed it with the stunt casting criticism: it's not that Carrie isn't talented; it's that, because of her name, she gets away with things no other actress would and is allowed to sail through. No actress trying to make a name for herself would get away with sauntering into a warm up and barely putting the effort in, doing a bad accent or throwing a tantrum when a performance didn't go to plan a la West End Live. And if they did they'd definitely not keep getting the leading roles Carrie does.

Les Mis as Eponine - not a stunt cast
WotW - bit of a stunt cast
Chitty - bit of a stunt cast
Addams - half a stunt cast
Christmasaurus - NEPOTISM (jk because it was a family thing anyway and fair play but also not jk because why was the protagonist child played by an actual child but the antagonist child was played by an adult??)
Heathers - undeniable stunt cast
Les Mis as Fantine - bit of a stunt cast
Cinderella - undeniable stunt cast

Let me know your opinions

1000% agree with you!! Fantine was definitely an undeniable stunt cast. I feel like when she was in les mis (as eponine) was when her 'fandom' really went from a fan on YouTube to next level obsessed (definitely not speaking from tumblr experience....) but bringing her back to les mis for those who might of missed it or were feeling noslagic for that 'era' makes perfect sense for a huge boost in ticket sales from her fans.

Chitty and WOTW (first time around) are the only ones I disagree with about stunt casting. She had an offer to be Nancy on Oliver! But chose to do Chitty, so it wasn’t like she was their only option. Iirc she explained that they had to test her voice for WOTW to see if it would match Jason Donovan’s (I think) so idk if that really counts.

Addams was an obvious stunt cast. Why she chose to do a show that was shat on during its Broadway run is beyond me. The tour would’ve tanked without her. Her being cast as Wednesday was like Nathan Lane being Gomez. Stunt cast so critics wouldn’t be too harsh on them.

I would say that Addams and Fantine were stunt casts (maybe just a step below undeniable lol), not as bad as cinderella or heathers but she was definitely a stunt cast for those two

I disagree slightly that Addams would’ve tanked without her as a lot of people I know who went to see it didn’t even mention Carrie and just said how brilliant Cameron Blakely was and that he stole the show pretty much.

It’s Les Mis’ birthday today so I’m anticipating a “Happy Birthday, weren’t you so lucky to start my career and give me a star spot as Fantine next to all of these massive stars” and her to generally make it about her, in contrast to Lucie Jones for example who just stated her roles and locations with some adorable lovely photos of her and her friends, or she’ll completely and utterly ignore it on her socials like she did her mums 😂
Also not sure if anyone else has seen Shekinah McFarlane’s post about what it meant to her to be back in her home town after her set backs and trying to build her career, it was so emotional to read (the video of the bows were emotional as well I really recommend watching it on her Instagram) and I’m by no means saying Carrie hasn’t had any hardships whatsoever but it’s posts like that that just make Carrie stand out like a sore thumb in a bad way that she thinks she’s so hard down by but clearly she’s been very fortunate

Someone mentioned before, I think over on GuruGossip a while back that the only women in the industry she's friends with are those who won't be cast in the same roles as her. Celinde is a soprano so they naturally wouldn't be competitors for most roles. While other performers like Jodie Steele or Georgina from Cinderella would be.
But I guess it also might just be that she met Celinde while she was still her old self, idk

Oh cool! I didn’t realize how popular Cameron Blakely is over there. At least they had two names to secure ticket sales.
