I've only quoted on the
Caroline Hirons threads once so forgive me for not being up to speed on the latest dramas (I'm not into the influencers thing) - this may have been said already.
I was a member of EDS (Essentialdayspa) for years. Also Skincaretalk, but only briefly, as it was very bitchy (and badly-moderated) on there.
I went through a phase of lemming after skincare products, gadgets, treatments, looking for my holy grail.
Spent a lot of money, time, online browsing and after years of it decided...most people online are shills (there was actually a big scandal on EDS/Essentialdayspa that I missed, but reading between the lines it was about certain members promoting products for their own gain).
My opinion is that skincare is closely linked to health/lifestyle/your body chemistry and unique to the individual (maybe not the best analogy, but imagine a random doctor posting online with generalised health advice and recommendations to use/buy products - directed at EVERYONE - it would be unethical and could even be dangerous - though some on EDS recommending we buy Roaccutane might come under the "dangerous" description).
TL;DR: Seek help from a specialist if things are really dire, but for me, skincare has been trial and error - what suits me won't suit you. I feel there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all skincare guru.
