We will never know how CF was struggling and with what. She was abusing drugs and drink which was clearly exasperating whatever was going on inside her. Seems like she had no idea the effects of recreational drugs and possibly didn't think she had a problem and therefore didn't reach for rehab.

Only she and LB knows the truth of that night and I wouldn't take his word for it alone. So his injury is on the very top of his head 🤔 interesting to know how it happened like that
I can't read what you have posted there. Admittedly, my eyesight isn't the best but I think someone with 20/20 vision would struggle!

Wow!!!!! What’s sort of child wrote that shit?!
That’s like a spoilt teen brats burn book!! Awful

Andrew Brady is disgusting!! I bet he’s contacted the family saying he will sort funeral arrangements. Sounds like he’s got a guilty conscious to be honest. Little rat

I thought it could be about why the CPS were still pressing charges etc I don’t know much about the legal system and totally understand why there are things in place to protest people but it did come across like they were making an example out of her especially if they were right in that it was an accident. But we don’t really know what happened so it’s hard to say.
This idea that the CPS would want to make an example of someone or conduct a show trial is utter nonsense. They either believe that it is in the public's interest to pursue a conviction, with what they think is enough evidence, or they don't. A very public trial would be under even closer scrutiny than any other, and would therefore have only been conducted by the book. To the letter of the law, the letter (Ted Hastings)
I know it's not what those close to CF want to hear, but the CPS truly believed that she was guilty of a crime, and that the evidence was sufficient to achieve a guilty verdict. This is just how it works.

There’s a reason sectioning and psychiatric care in hospital is such a serious place. The police and nurses will try and ensure as many people can be cared for at home and in their communities because hospitals for such things are traumatic places. I don’t believe Caroline needed sectioning at all. By the accounts we have she wasn’t displaying the kind of behaviour that warrants sectioning, and she assured paramedics that she was fine. The state cannot be responsible for people’s decisions every minute of the day. There is an aspect of personal responsibility here which is being overlooked on the whole. This was a choice on her own part.
As has been mentioned before, she had money to go and seek help from the private healthcare sector, and chose not to do that. There is a limit to how anyone can be helped.

Nicola McClean, Stephanie Davis et al really don’t strike me as being the sort of women CF would have wished to have associated with her. Because let’s be honest - they’re vile pond life.

Well, for starters, she goes through your phone whilst you're asleep.....
I would have to say that's probably insecurity from previously being cheated on by a man she was in a 3 year relationship with and a man who apparently loved her so much he proposed to her. I was cheated on and it took my ages to fix the insecurities it left me with. I'm just lucky my now boyfriend was able to put up with my paranoid ways because I was beyond paranoid.

A very sad situation and maybe we’ll never know the full story behind it . I made a post on the other thread regarding CF.
I personally have no interest in social media at all or the remotest interest in celebrities lives . I do however think I’ve been around long enough and witnessed and behaved mannerisms regarding cocaine and alcohol fuelled binges .DV is not just a trait attributed to working class binge drinking and living on the breadline . Unless you’ve been there it is hard to describe the anger issues it can cause particularly over a long period of time. I’m sure there are other halves on here who have been subjected to vicious verbal or physical attacks just because their partners are on a comedown . For non users multiple your worst hangover by 5 and you’re about there .Add in a bit of jealously usually stemmed from acute paranoia over many years and you have a ticking time bomb. This happens a lot behind closed doors all over the country so the show biz or social media has nothing to do with it . If you were of sound mind you either brush it off or ignore it all together
otherwise there would be hundreds of personalities causing mayhem . It seems these days many celebs want to play the mental health card / fad of the week / food of the month half of them don’t know who they are . They go for all the fitness / healthy food option then go loopy on booze and coke at the weekend , thinking they’ll work it off . Complete nonsense it will try to steal your soul more quickly to some than others . Hence why a lot people keep going as they think well all my friends do it still and they’re all right, everyone is different and people are affected in different ways.
Mental health is a problem but you have to be honest about EVERYTHING otherwise it won’t work . There is no magic bean that counteracts long term cocaine and alcohol abuse . All this talk of 800k signatures for social media privacy is a waste of time it’s not the issue . You’d be better off signing the End of the Line partition.

I feel so sad for Caroline that she had to put everything out on the table for the public to see , but also we don’t know how many times before had she close brushes with the police , I just wish she’d had a caution years before enough to make sit up think .

RIP Caroline
long time reader here, rarely post myself. I totally agree with all of this, brilliant post. My partner has substance misuse issues, maybe that’s why Caroline’s story resonates so much because I recognise the behaviours. Cocaine, especially mixed with alcohol, is evil. It turns people you love into someone you barely recognise. It’s torture for them and for people who love them, to see it. The comedown is horrific and it never surprises me when reading about suicides, that cocaine was in the the person’s system.

Also - it’s so confusing a dreadful when someone is drunk/ high/ both. What do you do? You can only do your best in a situation which is out of your control and calling the police is often the only sensible option. My partners behaviour when he is high/ unwell is awful, terrible, heartbreaking. My responses are not always helpful either. When the dust settles - it’s like: what the f happened there. I hate his addition and behaviour but I love him too. I’m sure anyone who has been in that situation can understand that.

The more I read that post her family released, the more I agree she would have been raked over the coals if she posted that.

it’s full of excuses for her behaviour, claims to take responsibility but says it was an accident. It’s all about what she has lost, how she feela— not one mention of regret or an apology to Lewis for what happened that night.

People are also quick to forget that it wasn’t only physical abuse that went on that night but she was also extremely verbally and emotionally abusive, judging by the hearing in December.

No offence but these people like Steph Davis, Kerry Katona etc are projecting their own experience onto Caroline’s and are a bit too emotionally invested

Generally if you see any celebrity giving an exclusive with The Sun you can logically assume it’s a trade off in order to keep something more damaging out.

As if anyone in their right mind would chose The Sun as their first port of call.

^ I think it’s still relevant at the moment but some time in the future will fizzle out and close. I think it’s opened a lot of important discussion about mental health/other people’s experiences/society and how we treat people. So I don’t think it should close just yet. No one has been disrespectful.

You can’t blame Caroline for the industry she worked for. If anything she was the one making it a kinder place. Don’t assume about her (alleged) drug use either. Sometimes bring in the spotlight can cause such extreme lows, celebs self medicate with drugs, doesn’t mean they are bad people. I can guarantee she was kinder, and touched more lives than most
We have kept hearing how much she loved Love Island, how much it meant to her blah blah blah. But it's a programme based on manipulating fake relationships for tabloid fodder. That doesn't smack of kindness to me. And frankly I think she loved it because she could keep hanging about with young pretty party people. Caroline was a very talented dancer and singer, I've no idea why she pursued trashy reality tv when she had so much more potential.

Please don’t take what I say as offensive, but if you’re not from the U.K., why do you care so much about her death? Did you watch her in the US?
Because although I don’t live there, I live close to there and have all the uk channels so I’m in tune with her and have watched most of what she has hosted.
It’s such a small world now you don’t need to live in the same country to know who she is. And social media makes it even smaller.

Why are we so fixated on age? She looked over ten years younger, so why does it matter? Just a way to degrade someone in a bitchy ageist manner
she was beautiful, gorgeous face and had legs that were amazing, it's no wonder she was always wearing skirts and shorts

This is heartbreaking 😢 So basically the papers could publish what they wanted to about her but she wasn’t allowed to even say this this? There should be some serious repercussions for whoever sold that photo of the blood, that should never have been made public.
How sad that despite having all these platforms to speak on Caroline was silenced and could not say how she truly felt.
It makes you think how empty these hashtags are- who is speaking their truth in their little bit of the internet?
Maybe for legal reasons she could not speak as it may have not have been looked on favourably in court or maybe it was because it would show the lack of support she had received regarding her loss of job and home.
It highlights how what we see and what goes on behind the scenes of this industry is sadly very different.
In the end Caroline's main concern was her family and how they have been affected...maybe those hash tagging reminders to be kind could learn from this and start with family. Be kind to those those close to you who you will still be there when the brand deals are not.

You both hit the nail on the head there. Like her mother said, With only the little voice that she had left, she was still not allowed to share this and speak out ☹

Now’s not the time to have the moral high ground
I’m not taking any moral high ground. I’m taking a very measured stance and a balanced approach in what seems to be a tidal wave of hysteria.

If you feel like me being disgusted at domestic battery is “taking the moral high ground”, then so be it 🤷🏼‍♀️
