It's been reported that she was restrained on the floor during her time in custody. That's never going to be a comfortable thing to watch back, let alone have anyone else see.

With regards to DC sharing their messages I'm mindful that he's likely 'talking' with a heavy heart.

CF called him on the Friday evening prior to her death but he was playing a match so obviously missed the call.
After the game the teams all go upstairs for the meal and generally socialise and mingle. His team lost so he probably wasn't in the highest of spirits but not necessarily downbeat.
It's highly unlikely (but not impossible) that he didn't check his phone and see her missed call but opted not to return the call immediately thinking 'it can wait'.....

Sadly we all know how Saturday went and I'm sure, if I were in his shoes, I'd be feeling huge regret, and numerous what if's, had he called back no matter how late of an evening.

I get that lots of people are jumping on the sorrow bandwagon but I think he's definitely more genuine than most.

He's a fine egg chaser too 🍒 & 🏉

I think it's pretty obvious where this version of events came from. No mention of being restrained by police or threatening to kill herself that night. It does mention she 'totally overthought' the messages on Burton's phone, she was 'paranoid'. It's another PR clean up attempt from her. You can't use the media like that and then moan when they print things that don't flatter you. Extreme rage and paranoia that leads to you breaking things is abuse anyway.
In this version they arrest her because she was 'so apologetic'?!...In the court's version she admitted 'I did it' and was hurling abuse at Burton.
For a second time, we have a boyfriend calling an ambulance out of concern for her but it was a false alarm and he was mortified? Just like Brady? Sorry not buying it.

"
A source said: “Both Caroline and Lewis are absolutely heartbroken and devastated at the moment — and Caroline is beside herself with regret.
"It was a stupid drunken row which got out of control. Caroline accused him of sleeping around and found messages on his mobile phone which made her angry and upset.
“They were from one of his tennis clients, a 60-year-old woman, which she misconstrued. Caroline got paranoid.
"She started massively over-thinking and convinced herself Lewis was flirting with another woman.
“During the row a mobile phone hit Lewis and there was some glass which got broken over the floor. Both of them ended up with minor injuries, which were cuts.
"In the panic over the injuries to her, Lewis called 999 for an ambulance. But when cops arrived along with the ambulance crews both of them were mortified. “Neither Lewis nor Caroline wanted the matter to go any further, obviously.
"But because the scene looked so bad and Caroline was so apologetic, police were duty-bound to take action and arrested her.

He did not call 999 over concern about her injuries, that's absolutely NOT what is on the phone recording. He called the police saying she tried to kill him, he had just woken up and she can be heard in the background screaming abuse at him. I absolutely do not believe any version that says he called 999 out of concern for her safety or wellbeing.

I've just had a look at Andrew Brady's IG page. I'm not attacking his grief - obviously he must be distraught - but to put all that on his profile after he properly put the boot in when Caroline was arrested seems very poor form to me.

I'm uncomfortable with the line some are pushing on here about Caroline being a domestic abuser. I would agree that the 'it was an accident' line of defence should always be refuted IF there is evidence of this being more than a one off incident. As far as I'm aware there has been nothing from her boyfriend/police/cps to imply this.

While I agree that saying you are going to kill yourself can be an emotionally abusive tactic, it can only be described as such if the person has no intent on doing it. In Caroline's case it was a clear symptom of her mental health issues.

Therefore the list of 'abusive' things she is alleged to have done happened on one occasion after she allegedly found out about her boyfriends cheating. This isn't minimising it, it's just stating a fact that from what we know of the facts she MAY be guilty of a one off assault, but there is no indication of a pattern of abuse or that she was an abuser or abusive person in general.

Also someone implied the Instagram post that Caroline wasn't allowed to send out was somehow indicative of being an abuser, I beg to disagree. She clearly stated that she takes responsibility for her actions and she refuses to blame anyone else. Classic abusive behaviour would be the opposite where the abuser denies responsibility and tries to put blame on the victim or anyone but themselves.

I'm not saying the CPS are to blame for pursuing the case and it's a positive thing that they are finally trying to take DV more seriously, but they seem to have their priorities all wrong. The reason why the government quite rightly brought in new laws against DV was because of the thousands of women and children around the country living in fear of violent male partners, having to flee their homes and take refuge in over flowing women's shelters around the country. Two women in the UK are murdered every week by their partners because the police or justice system has failed them.
These are the cases that need prosecuting, but it seems like the CPS wanted to make an example of a high profile female celebrity instead.

I note that Nicky Butt, ex Man Utd player and now Academy manager, was arrested last April for domestic violence against his wife. He was due to appear in court this week but his wife refused to testify against him but, unlike with Caroline's case, the CPS dropped the case instead of proceeding. He merely got cautioned and fined for criminal damage to her phone.

Also noteable how the media coverage for his case was virtually non existent (I didn't even know he was arrested and charged last year).
The press may have a duty to report famous people's court cases but the way the disgusting tabloid press and high profile 'journalists' (like Dan Wooten , Piss Morgan even Eamonn Holmes) vilify, harass, stalk, bully, make up lies and bullshit stories about famous people (nearly always women) is unacceptable and deeply disturbing. Their responses expressing remorse about Caroline's tragic death show them to be total hypocrites. The fact two of these bullying misogynists are employed by ITV just shows that they are a morally bankrupt organisation too.

The tabloid press and high profile social media trolls spewing hatred every day may not be to blame for Caroline's death, it's not as simple as that, but they are one of the many contributing factors and they are a stain on our society.
I also don't believe she was an abuser. I do believe that she probably quite often went mental and flipped out causing her to scream, shout and throw things around. Many years ago when I was abusing substances and hating myself and the world around me I would do the same. Usually in a situation that didn't really call for it but when your mind and body is being battered these are the consequences. It is generally targeted at the partner because he is there at the moment and not directly related, they come and go unlike family. However I never self harmed and never felt suicidal despite a rough upbringing and poor self image. Had my behaviour been publicised I would have been even more ashamed and can't guarantee how that would have affected me. As it was at the time I do whatever I wanted then throw all the friends away and start fresh. No record on social media just memories which was bad enough, especially when bumping into an old face from said life. I did abuse people st the time but only in the moment and I would apologise but I would then walk away. I never continued to abuse them. I never understood what was going on with me and I didn't ever speak about it. I didn't know what to say and I carried on with my life as if all was ok. When I stopped the drugs it all just went away. I have since always battled depression and anxiety and poor self image but I manage it ok mostly. I'm 34 now and very happy but I do have demons from my "previous life" shame, guilt, regret. I see people from that life, usually at my kids school 😭🤦🏻‍♀️ but I don't bat an eyelid face to face. No one yet has even so much as said hiya you alright etc.

We dont know what happened when they got home that night. High on drugs and alcohol (possibly, we don't know for sure yet) at some point she has been through his phone and found texts, we are led to believe at this point he was asleep, so what happens next, she attacks him in bed, he gets up and they fight and argue. She says horrible things and no doubt he was giving as good as he got. She cuts herself and threatens suicide. Things are completely out of hand and he calls the police. The police arrive, CF is manic, theres blood everywhere.

CPS 100% have done the right thing in pursuing the case due to the scene they witnessed. Who knows what CF's side of the story was but in that moment whatever happened was horrific. Be that due to drugs or simply her mental state. At her own admittance she behaved badly. Yes social media and the media played their part in hounding a fragile person and that is awful but it won't ever change. People are opinionated and the internet makes it all too easy for them to jump on the band wagon. However, when you're in the public eye and act in a certain way you will be scrutinised. They need to toughen up, block the haters or shut down their profiles or whatever and not read the papers etc, maybe it's not that easy I dont know. CF could have owned up to her problems and sought help but I gwt the impression she was embarrassed and ashamed about how she was feeling even long before the incident and her misuse of drugs and alcohol exasperated everything. On the outside she is said to have been bubbly, vivacious and full of life, which certainly seemed to be the case in general. But on the inside she was already tormented and then this all got out of hand and she felt she needed to end it. We will never truly know why

I barely knew she existed really before her death but it has touched me. I don't know why. I've never felt suicidal so its not that I relate to her story at all. Its just really struck a cord with me. Shes not the first celebrity to have taken her own life and never before have I felt much more than sympathy when reading other stories. It seems she had a good upbringing and was close to her family, even having a twin! That bond must be so strong.

Rambling on when it's none of my business and doesn't effect my life 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ just feels very strange.

I've never understood suicide and always felt it a very selfish act for all the loved ones. My friends cousin hung himself and his sister found him. She was tormented by it for a long time and now has found her coping mechanism where she has put him on a pedestal. As has everyone else in the family. I don't know how would react but i imagine i would be mostly angry and disappointed once my grief had passed. All in all it's incredibly sad and i have no idea why I'm rambling on and on 🤦🏻‍♀️ sorry if you've had managed to get this far and endure my ramblings. I have a 4 month old baby, I dont see many adults 😂 just read tattle and occasionally comment 🤭

How do we know she was abusing drugs ?
Dont know for certain. I worded that wrongly. Should have said allegedly.

To the post above, I hate to admit about my own country, but a large portion of our society are bullies, who glorify in other’s misfortune. We have so much sexism, misogyny, bitchiness towards women, to the point we tear them apart and ruin their lives. It’s readers of certain newspapers and magazines that search for it and get validated by others who unite in their bitterness. I quit the daily mail one
ce for a few months, and I felt lighter and I swear it contributes to negativity towards others and mysellf. It’s not a force for good.

I’ve spoken to people in the mental illness community this week that have found all the speculation and ‘Be Kind’ rhetoric quite suffocating. Quite rightly so as living with mental illness long term and managing it is a little different to just hoping everyone will ‘Be kind’ to you. It’s time consuming, restrictive and hard work, especially if you are functioning (i.e part of society, have a family, work etc.) Sadly when a high profile suicide happens, mental illness gets dramatised when in reality it’s as boring as any other illness. You take your meds, do your day, keep your fingers crossed and repeat. I don’t think that any article etc now is worth the time unless it comes from her family. I just read Piers Morgan’s and it’s just incessant drivel from a distant professional colleague.

I'm all for putting out information, sources of help for those who are suicidal, depressed etc and encouraging people to talk more. But I'd also like to see more support for those experiencing domestic violence. This case has highlighted some awful and outdated views. Now, I totally appreciate Caroline had not been tried in a court of law and was not convicted of anything. However, the comments I have seen since the incident happened have shocked me. "He probably deserved it" "It was just a one off" "its just a domestic, nothing to do with the police". This is things that even actual friends of mine have said - and I'm astonished. I thought these views were very old school - not of current 30 something professional women. Front page news is now criticising the decision to prosecute - are we trying to set back views on DV by about 30 years here? I'm incredibly sorry Caroline has died, her suicide is shocking. But there's more than just her as a victim here, that shouldn't be swept under the carpet.
Couldn’t agree more with this. Especially when I’ve seen it being referred to as a ‘mistake’.
Like you say it’s sad, it shouldn’t have come to this and I feel truly awful for her family and friends but we can’t disregard the DV involved.

In fairness even if she did find anything suspect on his phone that doesn’t give her the right to assault him. Nothing justifies that kind of behaviour she displayed that night. If you’re suspicious, confront him like an adult and talk to him. Don’t wait until he’s asleep to root through his belongings and then, without as much as an explanation, batter him over the head because you read too much into what you found.

How sad that despite having all these platforms to speak on Caroline was silenced and could not say how she truly felt.
It makes you think how empty these hashtags are- who is speaking their truth in their little bit of the internet?
Maybe for legal reasons she could not speak as it may have not have been looked on favourably in court or maybe it was because it would show the lack of support she had received regarding her loss of job and home.
It highlights how what we see and what goes on behind the scenes of this industry is sadly very different.
In the end Caroline's main concern was her family and how they have been affected...maybe those hash tagging reminders to be kind could learn from this and start with family. Be kind to those those close to you who you will still be there when the brand deals are not.

I think it might be fair to say that you read the newspapers report on the hearing, and embellished it with your own opinions, no?

I would politely suggest that you read back what you originally posted.

"also know she did this in a previous relationship, and was apparently abusive to him too"

Know this how exactly? Oh because Andrew Brady said so on social media?

"Threatening suicide to the police unless they drop the charges is abusive."
"unless they drop charges"... fabrication.

"Slitting your wrists when you’re not getting your way is abusive."
Really now? We're you a huge one direction fan back in the day by any remote chance?
I’m well into my 40s so far too old to be a directioner I’m afraid. Although they did have some good tunes.
Thanks for the advice but I would politely suggest you read the actual transcript from the court hearing, in particular the comments from Ms Weiss from the prosecution before you tell me I’m embellishing or exaggerating.

She did admit to it although pleaded not guilty at the plea hearing. She doesn't deny it in the statement now released from the family. She very clearly did not want her mental health problems - and the self-harming - to become public knowledge which it would have done. I guess that, on its own, would have caused her problems with her job. She had clearly been advised that the case would be dropped but wasn't and so she faced not only a trial, but the disclosure of everything she didn't want people to know about her. It was pretty much a lose / lose situation. Even if she was found not guilty, would ITV bosses want to employ someone that was self-harming? Doubtful.

It's a heartbreaking situation, but she hadn't been sacked and was probably going back to it after the trial as they left the door open. She had a lot more support than a normal person that gets the sack just like that once charged with a crime. I've had a family member falsely accused of something, he lost his job and had a long wait for justice to be served. It was terrible and we were worried about him. Celebrity or not it's a terrible thing to go through.

It was just coming up to the trial and she would have been able to show people it was accidental. I believe that she didn't want to harm him, but in the heat of the moment it's quite likely she deliberately hit him, then regretted it immediately.
How do you know that she had more support? ITV say they offered her support but it doesn't sound like that was the case from her own statement. ITV are responsible for allowing people like Piers Morgan on television. They don't mind harassing women every day. I don't know why everyone assumes they are telling the truth when they say they offered her support.

I wonder who did. Who had access to that? Only the police ? CPS? Caroline? Lewis?
Who released the photograph of the blood all over the bedroom? The police officer comment about it looking like a scene from a horror movie - or whatever it is he said, what an odd thing for a police officer to say. I'd imagine a met police officer would be fairly used to seeing blood and something slightly more concerning than someone self harming. Unless they have lived a very sheltered professional life.

I dread to think of the number of young people waking up today after Friday or Saturday’s latest binge who are feeling sorry for themselves or going through another mental episode . Just seen the blasé comments regarding one of the recent LI contestants who has had pictures of him using cocaine .

This country is rife with what the majority seem to think is harmless fun IT IS NOT . Ask your friends about their other halves who neglect their children , cause arguments , smash the house up , rifle through their phones thinking their partner is cheating or only think about themselves . They will never change unles THEY want to or something happens that show them for who they really are , even though they will have got away with things time and time again and they’re selfish attitude follows them wherever they go . The amount of people who would love to be in CF showbiz world would behave in exactly the same way . They all think they can go on forever having a stress free life in showbiz , swanky restaurants, flash car , home , holidays etc . Booze and coke will wreck all of that it won’t just happen overnight it will slowly pull your life apart until you either seek help or lose control totally .
Look out for your friends , mental health is a card played too often these days and people who are on medication should not drink , smoke and most definitely not combine booze and cocaine it will fuck you up no end until you are a shell of your former self . Apologies to any people who suffer with MH issues and know that any source of alcohol or illegal drugs will affect your wellbeing, I wish you all the best in your recovery . For people who continue to use or use the MH card as a way of continuing your selfish drink and drug taking . WAKE THE FUCK UP and think about others rather than just yourself .How many people are claiming MH disorders but don’t own up to drink and drug intake ?
I completely agree with you. I can’t speak for the Coke side but I was a binge drinker/alcoholic and I have been free for 1 year and 6 months now (this coming from the person who never ever considered doing Stoptober as it seemed too long). My anxiety was the reason I drank, but it was just a hamster wheel of misery, the day after drinking I would be in pure mental hell.. unable to go out for feeling so down and hopeless. If anyone on here is struggling with alcohol I really am here for you to talk anytime. My life is better since getting free. It annoys me that alcohol is glossed over a lot when it directly or indirectly causes So much death and destruction. You only have to watch those police shows on channel 5 to see most of the people they deal with are on the booze.

I think the same. I think she likely felt snookered because if the description of the footage is anything to go by, the events of that night are a stark contradiction of the “embarrassing misunderstanding”, “bit of a kerfuffle” she tried to downplay it as. I don’t think she could reconcile with the fact that the public were about to see her acting in a violent and unstable manner. This may have been avoided if she pled guilty but then she would be on record as a domestic abuser and probably unemployable then too.

I don’t think she could see a way out.

I also think it’s interesting that she was in no way wiling to own her mistakes.
I completely agree. I think the footage is probably very, very upsetting. It will either support the charge of domestic abuse or show her as a manic, unstable self-harmer (sorry I cannot think of a better way to phrase that...)
