The “Bekind” brigade are out in full force on Facebook 🙄
Yes OMG!!! I had to come over here for a palate cleanse. The comments are unbelievable!! Even some of my closest friends who I deem as highly intelligent seem to be taking this personally! The bloody hysteria is very telling. NOT genuine mourning at all.

But did his family?
Plus a negative test means nothing if the virus is still incubating. You won't test positive until there's enough virus in your body (or the dodgy test decides you're positive anyway)

Hannah has also thanked his carers. Maybe a carer gave it to him, who knows. Firstly though the pneumonia will have been bought on by taking a 100yr old to a hot country and then back to a cold England, and second if they hadn't taken their freebie trip he'd have been able to have the jab.
All this 'he had pneumonia so couldn't have it' is crap. If he'd stayed in England then he'd have been one of the first to be jabbed. They clearly didn't take him with pneumonia, so going away caused all this, there's no other way round it

Edit to add... who paid for his carer to go? Did a carer go?
I did wonder why we hadn’t seen him getting his jab around Christmas time when the first were vaccinated

Of course walking around the garden is nothing compared to ICU staff done but he was a 99 year old Veteran. What more could he have done? He died hours ago and people are talking about what seedy stuff might come out etc. He’s not a villain. If nothing else he was a man who did a kind thing. He doesn’t deserve the stuff being said.
Then does he deserve all of the accolades? Surely you can't have it both ways?

I want to know why he got family members around his bed when he was covid positive... my nanna had to die alone 😞

I thought I read a few weeks back that he had already been given the first part of the vaccine, as he was one of the first because of his age. I've searched for more information on this but can't find anything. Am I imagining it? 🤔

But if we are happy for one family to fly out to Barbados where does it stop? I hope the people who think it’s ok that he went to Barbados are ok with influencers going travelling. Nobody should be travelling.

There is terminally ill people who’ve died before getting to go where they want or been delayed going to get treatment that could prolong their life. There is so many circumstances.

They are also clearly a very well off family so why did they not take him to Barbados 2/3 years ago ?

I am glad he had his family around him in his last moments but I do find it heartbreaking that other families haven’t had this opportunity.

I've sent an email to the hospital PALS asking for their policies. This was prior to his passing but it still remains.

stayed at home like 99.999999999999999999999% of the rest of us?
that would have been enough all along, may care homes are filled with elderly being asked to do the same to protect themselves and the NHS.

I do personally think he deserves them however I never said that he deserved them what I said was that he didn’t do anything to deserve any nasty comments.

The thing is I doubt Tom would have been comfortable with his this hero worshipping and the comments about wanting a state funeral. If there is an afterlife I hope he’s reunited with his beloved wife who he lost many years ago. And regardless of the questions I have about Hannah and her family I hope both she, Lucy and Tom’s other loved ones are supported and can grieve him.

He did actually, he flew to Barbados during a pandemic. That's not a 'nasty' comment, it's just a fact.

Quite. Some of the comments on this thread are shocking. Why do people have to try and muck-rake?

Yeah that’s better than raising 30mil 🤨 He never broke rules. He never spread Covid from there to here or vice versa. If he hurt anyone it was himself. And I can’t see him being kidnapped to Barbados so wouldn’t think it’s the family’s fault either.
