I’m a nurse in a nursing home we have 37 residents with dementia and 3 that need 24 hour nursing care. I find it deeply insulting fir her to call them dementia homes. She obviously is very ignorant as she is about many things!
Help brought back a lot of memories about the start of the pandemic . We didn’t have any Ppe until July it’s been a very stressful time where I was the only nurse at one point working around the clock. My husband is a keyworker and my 13 year old had to watch his 2 year old brother as no one to watch them

I’m in the Midlands and I’ve known these trips to be called camps or residentials. The schools I’ve been associated with, year 6 go away for the entire week. Not every school is a carbon copy of the next.

Another Midlands girl- always called these trips residentials. We did ours in France at a youth hostel - my daughter was supposed to do 2 nights last year (yr 3) at an outward bound type place and will do 4 nights (hopefully) in year 6.

Thank God for the Babbath and a break from her waffle bollox! I haven't watched Help cos I know it would break my heart. I spent a few years in a lovely job taking elderly folk with dementia to garden centres for tea and shopping ....even accompanied one delightful lady to her nephew's Hindu wedding. As the disease progressed , one by one they went into care homes. There isn't a day goes by when I think of them and dearly miss them. Hoping to visit the one lady next week and am really looking forward to seeing her for the 1st time in 18 months.
Back to Babby Norman and her film reviews. I bloody hate it when she recommends something...she rarely knows the title , has no idea of the plot( one may say she lost the plot ages ago! ) and after watching it still can't outline the story. Tbf if she does recommend anything I know it'll not be for me, artless,gormless lump.

Just popping on to add my two pennies to the outrage of her summary of Help. Nothing extra that you cowbags haven't highlighted but need to get it off my chest.
She's more worried about the length of the program than actually registering the content. I've had so much to say about Help, from the rawness, how moving it was, the filming of it etc etc but nah in true babs still she fucks that one up too, probably googling where she knows the actors from and how tall they are to avoid having to emotionally engage in a piece of drama.

talk about living in the future. it wasn't even the end of the kids' summer holidays, and she was claiming summer was over and blabbering about halloween and decorating her house for autumn. she had a PSL so autumn is done, and she's already moved onto christmas - eating mince pies and pre-planning trips to B&M and home bargains to buy christmas decorations next week - it's SEPTEMBER, ffs. she'll be filming christmas decoration haul vlogs by next weekend, despite the fact that halloween is over a month away. she also mentioned the kids' birthdays arlier, stating that she'll have an 11 and a 9 year old "soon" - their birthdays are the end of december and january. christmas won't even have happened, and she'll be planning her valentine's hot cock stand and the "date" breakfast she enforces on the kids. she'll be eating creme eggs and hot cross buns on boxing day.

At this rate she'll be looking out her summer 2022 clothes in a couple of weeks

You do a bloody fantastic job. I’m a nurse and I visit a lot of residential/nursing homes and you guys have really gone through it these last 18 months and yes, there are homes that specialise in caring for people with dementia but to call them ‘dementia’ homes de humanises these people, implying that all that they are is their dementia and not actual people.

The woman has no clue and no empathy. Honestly like most (& I’ve shared with you all before) I’ve had a horrendous 18m this with my FIL is the icing on a massive pile of . We will get there. I’m just so mad that so many people are in similar positions to me and she has this massive platform that she could actually raise awareness of something she proclaims is close to her heart.
but no we get “oh it’s upsetting here’s a tw if you work with the elderly” the show is about early onset Alzheimer’s and the horrendous battles the staff had covid when twats like her still continued to flaunt the rules.

My Dad had Lewy Body dementia which made me decide to change my career path. I have looked after people from the ages of 38-102 years old so for her to be so patronising to say she admires people who look after the elderly makes my blood boil.
I work in a beautiful nursing home that provides for ex military and has a specialist wing for demntia care.
It would do Babs good to volunteer in somewhere like this to open her eyes, to see it's not all doom and gloom. I worked throughout the entire lockdown, like a lot of other people, whilst Babs was out and about flouting all the rules. She watches one episode of "Help" and tries to make it all about her! I can honestly say that I have never disliked anyone as much as I dislike this narcissistic woman!

But then as usual Emma is just paying lip service to the hundreds of nurses and care workers out there who battled for months and months during Covid. She’s so bleeping patronising. Imagine Erin at the residential with the rest of her class, and a random person walks up to her to say hello. Afterall, babs is always saying if you see them say hello. She may mean it as a “say hi to me no matter who I’m with so I can look famous” but so many people have seen far too much of Erin. Maybe this will be the wake up Emma needs (doubtful).

Considering she’s posted a picture of them in their school uniform earlier in the month, and the pictures of her house are still on right move it wouldn’t be hard for somebody who wanted to, to find out where the trip is to.

I’m in the East Midlands and it’s been called a residential trip since I was a child. Where we are they go in year 4, 5 and 6.

Her constant reference to ‘dementia homes’ upsets me too. I was in a similar situation to Emma where I lost my remaining grandparents just before lockdown and they had funerals with vastly reduced numbers and we could t be together as a family to mourn. It was gutting, still is, but I’m also glad they didn’t have to live through lockdowns, and we were able to visit them regularly all the way to the end of their lives.

Go on Bans, go and volunteer in a nursing home and see the real hard work that goes on! See the different types of Alzheimers and dementia that people live with. Then try and make it all about you!

I work in critical care now, but the start of my nursing career was in a Nursing Home. Her referring to it as a “Dementia Home” is just pure ignorance. What an absolute tit.
Some of my fondest memories are from when I worked at the nursing home. A very tiring, but fulfilling job. Nothing that Babs will ever experience.

This has just reminded me of years ago when i worked in a care home, and we had a lady who suffered from ARBD. She was only 40 and her own children were about my age. It was heartbreaking . Sorry for going off topic, i remember the lady enjoyed helping us and we gave her little tasks and 'jobs' to do as she knew herself she was a lot younger than everyone else living in the home. Tbh i dont think the home i worked in was the right place for her but I often think about the lady now-years later, and i wonder how she is.
So yes Babs it is a very real thing!

I have worked in care for the elderly for 11 years and am now a team leader, training for my management qualification.
I totally agree with you, especially about the hard work behind the scenes. The long 12/13 hour shifts, having to shovel your lunch in your gob on the go, rarely having time to have a wee, the migraines and feeling dehydrated from struggling to find time to drink, the always being short staffed - even prior to covid! Just to name a few things!

Oh and the crappy pay - now that's a meagre wage!

So yeah Emma, come and give it a go - it's not all sitting around and drinking tea with the residents!

It was one of the reasons i went into Social Work- my plan was to work with adults, but i ended up working with children. Hopefully one day i will work with adults though. But anyway, you are all amazing people and the work you do on a daily basis is astonishing. And yet there are cunts like Babs who duck around, offer nothing to society, the most selfish, patronizing, and generally awful person who once again misses the mark and makes that post all about her.

She is absolutely vile. I saw a poster say that Babs earned £100,000. Is that true? If that is true then it represents all that is wrong in society. Yes i am probably bitter, and maybe even a tiny bit jealous because i dont earn anything like that! But i believe in karma and everything working itself out, and Babs is in for a shock if she thinks she will ever be able to go back to teaching, or even lecturing. Youtube wont last forever and she will absolutely pay for it in the years to come- whether its financial, her mental health, her children's mental health, her marriage and so on.

She is just bleeping vile. She is up there with Brogan Bogtrotter Tate, the Ingham Family and Beggy Dingle (rebecca Lamb) for the worst so called 'influencers'. Just bleeping vile.

Totally agree I think it’s very telling that there is a large majority of us on here working or volunteering in caring social and healthcare professions yet we are in Babs mind, mere trolls. Dreadful that those professions are poorly paid given the hours and responsibility etc compared to this pretend werk life of Walter Mitty Conway but they are mentally and emotionally fulfilling and yes, they may leave us physically and emotionally exhausted but they keep us fulfilled professionally and for that I believe Babs will be eternally jealous of the tattlers!

She could not stick teaching cos she’s thick and lazy and wouldn’t have been interested in the kids. Teenagers aren’t always easy and she wouldn’t have gone the extra mile like many teachers I know. Teaching, Nursing, Social Care….I really believe these are vocations and take a certain type of person and not everyone can do it and that’s fine. I loved nursing ( stopped a good few years ago) , really loved it and even back in my day when we did 8 hour shifts not 12/13 we barely had time to drink or eat or pee And rarely finished on time especially if I was in charge of the ward.Emma would not last mins these days in a proper job.
She would have been cock a hoop to find a “job” ( its not a job Emma, really it’s not) that involves her sitting on her arse all day and making stupid terrible videos that make no sense and make her a ton of money. She’s been lucky so far that her fucks up haven’t ended her ‘career’ but she’s very very arrogant and she will come a cropper at some point. She will do something that she can’t come back from- mostly because she is not very bright.
