poor ethan. that look of fury on her face when she mentions she was up at 5am, obviously aimed at the boy. and i imagine he spent the morning having to endure a load of sighing and eye-rolling and scathing comments as a result.I assume she’s angry at “the boy” for getting her up at 5 this morning. My son is the same age as Ethan and if he gets up early or earlier than me then he knows to watch a bit of telly or YouTube quietly. Because you know, he’s 8 not 3!
the thing is, babs is awake at 5.30am - if not early - every single day. she's perfectly happy to be awake in the early hours if she can spend the time gurning at the camera filming pit stories, but actually lugging herself out of bed to spend time with ethan? far too much effort, and she's going to spend the morning complaining about it to her "friends" - with ethan in hearing distance, obvs. it's probably the only chance he thinks he will get any attention from his mum, yet she disappoints him again, by dismissing him to film stories and make aggressive facial expressions in his direction.
again, she's completely overlooking the fact that if she didn't enforce a toddler bedtime on her eight year old son, he wouldn't be up at the crack of dawn - and even if he WAS, he is perfectly capable of going downstairs by himself and watching hamster YT videos, going on his ipad, or reading a book on his own, without supervision! if he feels hungry, i'm sure he's perfectly capable of grabbing himself a snack - or even *shock, horror* pouring himself a bowl of cereal! if she simply stopped treating him like a toddler, and allowed him some independence, she wouldn't need to drag herself out of bed the minute he opens his eyes. in all honesty, i'm pretty sure she knows it's absolutely unnecessary, butshe knows that waking up early is relatable content for her toddler mum followers, up in the early hours entertaining toddlers and feeding babies - to the point where i guarantee she's purposefully got herself and the kids into a toddler-bedtime routine, to ensure she wakes up early to share stories at a time when the mothers of young children are likely to be starting their day - solely so she can keep her content toddler-mum appropriate.
so even if ethan is perfectly capable of getting up on his own and entertaining himself - which i fully believe he is, since babs drags herself downstairs but then totally ignores her son while she spends her time filming stories moaning about him and paying him absolutely no attention whatsoever - she's not going to et anyone know that, because she thinks that will immediately make her totally unrelatable to toddler mums - which it probably will, given that her kids are not toddlers! - and she'll lose the majority of her followers. as people have said before, the original followers who liked her content because it was focused on raising toddlers will now have kids around the same age as erin and ethan, so i imagine they unfollow ages ago, since they don't enforce toddlerhood on their kids for content.
therefore, the toddler mums that follow her now are more recent followers, so if she'd simply changed her content as her children grew, to reflect her life transitioning from raising toddlers to children to teens etc, she would have kept the interest of her original audience, and wouldn't have to fabricate toddler-related content on a daily basis, for fear of losing all her "lovely friends". just further evidence that she prioritises content over the development and wellbeing of her kid's, because who would specifically NOT teach their children to make toast solely so she can make a point of the fact that rely on her to make their breakfast, put their shoes and coats away etc - yeah, because she's purposefully refusing to teach them basic skills solely to keep her followers!
Not just that but how will they be able to go to the park with friends, or to the shops or walk home from school with the risk of random people recognising them and possibly approaching them as her children. I’d be terrified.I always imagine the kids will be the ones dropped at parties outside front door by Babs, not round the corner
