We love it, Wednesday night when STV drop 5 episodes is our favourite night sat in front of the TV. It's the nostalgia for us, spotting actors, love to see the 80's fashion, house furnishings, cars etc. I think the reruns show how ahead of it's time it really was, the writers all did a great job.Aw its so nice to read these messages haha.
Yes I remember being the only child on set for ages, it was always so exciting if there was another child around!
I once asked why my name wasn't on the credits so I did get given lines on a couple of occasions but then refused to say them lol.
One of my parents was a writer for it so they are still good friends with Ricky and in touch with Sue.
But honestly, I hated the attention haha. I could have been in the final episode but didn't want to. I remember the make up chair and wardrobe department being the most exciting place, I've always worked in fashion type jobs and did my degree in that too ..... I think my family didn't anticipate the level of attention I got at the time so I think that's why I was taken out when I was 5. I was 6 weeks old when I was first brought to set and its funny but even now I can pick out Sue Johnston's voice on an advert instantly it always sounds so familiar.
My best memory is when Madge from Neighbours came to visit the set (no idea why lol). She was so nice and gave me a big hug. My parents were at a dinner party later and she was talking about the young girl she worked with wanting to leave Neighbours to start a pop career and the brookie cast were saying what a fool she is giving up a good job like that...of course it was Kylie Minogue haha
Sue Johnston is the best, her scenes always hit hard and in everything she's done since.
Was there some sort of Brookie/Neighbours mash up towards the end of the final shows? Seem to remember that being a thing, maybe that's why Madge was there?
I didn't watch towards the end, so will be good to catch those episodes.
How lovely all those memories you have, your children will probably love to watch the episode of you and Sue coming back from a shopping day out. Depending on age, as some of the language and views aren't for the modern day we live in now
