Why was Chrissie hanging dry pillowcases out??
I can always believe Sheila, she is such a good actress, so different from Annabelle who seems to just simper all the time
Oh Mother! Oh Paul!

Also, Gordon really irritated me when I first watched but now he makes me laugh
Garden chairs in the.....Garden!!
And they are being so mean to Chris

My favourite character was Marie, I loved her but of course she's long gone now, though there are some cracking story lines coming up, I just loved her attitude
Ha i thought the same about the washing, didn't look at all wet!
Annabelle and Paul were mean to Chris just kicking him out like that, and Gordon was mean to, just going off to France!
Isn't it funny when you rewatch a show, I never used to like Marie, but I really miss her now!

I am actually loving the Heather and Nick storyline - even though they seem mismatched and he looks like the most unlikely heroin addict.
I think Heather leaves the close when this storyline comes to an end.

An unpopular opinion, but I never liked Ricky Tomlinson playing Bobby Grant. I think it’s the way he flies off the handle with no warning, with his long side parted hair flying about. I never found him convincing - and don’t get me started on Matty 🤣

Sheila and Barry were the best actors in the Grant household IMO

Just to add.
I grew up in Liverpool in the 80s (quite near Brookside Close). Bobby Grant’s hair was a topic of conversation at the time.
I was probably the same age as Damon when it was filmed, with my dad (and dad’s of my friends) being near the same age as Bobby.
NO middle aged man had hair like Bobby Grant!!!

Harry Cross is an interfering nasty old man.
Pat threatening Sandra again, she should have kicked him out.
Poor Sheila, can't do right for doing wrong, and her next storyline is a hard watch, we're heading into a dark time .

The Rose storyline seems pointless and hasn't really gone anywhere, and the awful accent, it's all over the place really! I thought she sounded a bit Australian at one point.
The Grants are still a good watch and Marie has had some great scenes, when she was telling George about her childhood- so well acted.I know shes a busy body but I can't help but like her, they seem to have a normal marriage, still love each other, like Bobby and Sheila, and of course we have a big story coming up soon.
I'm enjoying catching up with all the old characters again and looking forward to the new neighbours, the nurses.

As we speak! I watch every five new dropped episodes religiously. Even though I was quite young when it was first out I remember most of it vividly (including some early but upcoming storylines) and yet for the life of me I did not ever remember the Grants having a baby!

I'm waiting for Heather to have her relationship with the inexplicably cast man from Picture Box!

Also clocked Stephen McCann as Karen's fella!

Adrian Mills, who used to be one of Esther Rantzen’s ‘boys’ on That’s Life, was on in this weeks episodes during the football match

I stole these from the Digital Spy Classic Brookside thread but the singer Sonia and one of the sisters from The Reynolds Girls (of one hit wonder ‘I’d Rather Jack’ fame), were passengers on the bus that Sheila & Kathy took on the way home from the nightclub

Sonia stood next to ‘Zak Dingle’ at the bus stop and sat in front of Sheila on the bus

and one of The Reynolds was sat behind Sheila. Here she is on the left behind the vacated seat when Sheila & Kathy get up to get off the bus

Lots of gratuitous scenes of Roger in the near nuddy. Amanda Burton is great as Heather - compared to some terrible acting from others, she stands out as a good actress.
The Alan Partridge character is a bit daft. Awful acting and Samantha has to be the worst actress I have ever viewed on TV

I didn’t watch the very early episodes either. Sky dont make it easy to find the new ones. They’re all over the place!
Don’t remember Harry Cross’s wife. She cant have been in it long. Didn’t he end up in a bungalow?
I think the thing that stands out for me is the language they use. More so derogatory terms in particular. Ofcom would have a field day if it was now!!
Also i cant help but think of Marie and the character she was in Shirley Valentine 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

When it's on song, there's no other soap to match it
I too felt the Heather story was so rushed, but maybe, maybe, it's because we see the episodes bunched together?
I do wish my children were so quiet like Claire, I'd have had half a dozen of them.
Not very realistic them having a relaxing cup of tea first thing in the morning!
But I did love Bobby giving her the paper to read

I thought I'd seen the Damon and Debbie series, but didn't remember any of it, blimey it didn't half drag on and really wasn't that good.

When the policeman headed to Sheilas, her face said everything, there was no need to see him telling her about Damon, great acting.
I never liked Doreen first time around, but I'm going to miss her now!
Good episodes this week!

Rod was so nasty to Tracy, he should watch himself as she knows about that other girl!
Glad Tracy got justice, she has really grown up in the last few episodes.
Billy and Sheila acting like teenagers tiptoeing around the house!
Ah so Sue's storyline starts, I do remember the outcome of this....
