@CelesteW @Mamacita is there anything I do to reduce the bruising? I didn’t use an ice pack like I was told to or take any antihistamines.
I uses antihistamines as soon as I got home and did for a few days after. I didnt do the ice pack either. I should think you've just got to let the bruising go naturally now, although wearing a mask helped hide the first week of looking like a duck

Got mine about 8 weeks ago (2 areas - frown line and 11s) and I'm OBSESSED 😂 when I go back for top up I wanna get crows feet done and even contemplating smokers lines around my mouth
Its so addictive 😊😊

I had Botox in my forehead, three locations, one month ago. And it’s already showing quite substantial signs of wearing off. The clinic I went to do a follow up appt ten days after original booking which I had to cancel. Could this be why it’s fading so quickly? Might they have given more then?! Almost e300 to last a month is Mad.
I would phone and tell them this. See what they have to say

Does anyone have any experience with Botox and crows feet ? My friend got her crows feet done but it just seems to push the wrinkles under her eyes ! The crows feet are gone now to be fair but like she just seems extra wrinkly under her eyes ! Also can you get your forehead done with out needing to do the 11 ?
Re the forehead/11 anyone decent will say they only do the forehead as 2 areas to include the forehead and 11s as this gives the best results. I think you would find it hard to get someone good to do it without the 11s.

I'm 28 and think I'm going to get botox in the next few months for the first time!

I'm second my second lot of lip filler at the end of the month. I've wanted botox for ages!
How long would you lot say I would need it topping up at my age?
I’m 28 too and I want Botox inbetween my eyebrows. Not sure if they would do the whole forehead though - I don’t have deep lines but I can see 1 annoying fine line that bugs me

I’m booked in for my first ever Botox on Tuesday! I had a consultation and it’s with a nurse (who also works in ICU) so I feel I’m in good hands.

Just wondering if anyone knows how common bruising is? And are they bad bruises if it happens? Could I cover it with makeup? I’m meant to be meeting up with a new guy that night (around 7pm ish), appt is at 10:15am. I’ll definitely follow the aftercare instructions of no exercise and staying upright for 4 hours etc, and no alcohol or ibuprofen, but I bruise easily, so I’m worried I’ll look awful afterwards!
I never have bruising, just little bumps where ive been injected, they usually have gone down in the 30 mins it takes to drive home

I got it done over 5 weeks ago now and can't see any results at all 😑
Yeah that’s not right, did they have you go back after a couple of weeks? I did when I got mine and needed quite a bit more because I had very strong forehead muscles apparently! Give them a ring.

How do you find someone good? All the websites I’ve looked at all look great so not sure how to tell the good from bad!
I looked for a plastic surgery clinic that has been around for years - not a trendy new injection place that's just popped up. And I looked at their, the plastic surgeon and injectors qualifications that were listed. I made sure the injector is not just a registered nurse who decided to do botox, that she's actually registered with the American and Canadian Plastic Surgery Society, she is also a certified aesthetic nurse specialists which is not common in Canada. She is trained properly on the structure of the face which is very important when it comes to botox placement to avoid droopy eyes etc. I also wouldn't go with somewhere just because it's cheaper. When it comes to your face, cheap is not the answer lol.

That's a shame. I've been thinking to get it done for a while and my local clinic isn't too expensive, so think I'll still try it.
I think for some people you might need to get it a few times to see a difference. I had it once and saw some difference but then I didn't go back for a very long time and the muscle can just build back up. I'm going back next month and then will try to have it a bit more regularly and see if there's an actual difference.

I've been having botox for years (I'm old!) and it generally lasts 3-4 months which is pretty average. I keep on top of it ie, I go every 4 months without fail as I look knackered without it. Obviously everyone's skin type, lifestyle and reaction to it is different but I don't think you can expect botox to last longer than 4 months. I go to a lady who I completely trust and who treats mainly women my age who don't want a frozen, stark look but rather something more subtle. I also have filler in my cheeks every 2 years (long thin face) and am about to have laser treatment on my smokers lines around my mouth (I don't smoke, they're hereditary).

Strongly thinking of starting Botox on my forehead and my crows feet, I’m in Ireland. Have people got it done with Therapie, would you recommend?
No would defo not Recommend therapie. I’m in Ireland also . Therapie have shocking results . Friend of mine had to go back nearly 3 times as there was no difference when she got Botox and lips done . Lips when completely flat again after a few days . No difference in the Botox either . Also she was extremely bruised after the lips ! She looked as if she was in a fight it was so bad

I’ve seen a couple of people on here/insta mention a brow lift.. is this a common procedure most injectors will offer or is it something you’d need to be specifically trained in? Anyone who’s had a brow lift, I’d love to hear your experience!
I think anyone who's doing botox should be able to do a brow lift. It's really nothing, they just have to be careful not to put too much in so you don't look permanently surprised.

Does anyone else find that forehead / brow Botox makes certain veins appear more prominently? It’s almost like the stillness of the muscles means veins kind of stay in place and become more noticeable?

I would say mine lasts around 4 months before starts to wear off but even when it goes it’s never gone back to how my forehead was pre Botox

@smurphette and @MissTeddy thank you xx
I definitely look cross 🙈 got a smooth forehead but a permanent scowl ! I look like an angry bird 😂
Luckily it’s been sunny so sunglasses 🕶 have been my best friend.
It is what it is now and hopefully when I go back it can be counteracted or I won’t have any more.
I’ll post how I get on.
Thank you again - I can’t / won’t really speak about it to anyone as I feel as though I only have my vanity to blame but I wanted to look nice for my daughter xx
Have my fingers crossed for you!

And there's no shame in trying to look fresh for your daughter's wedding. Or just for yourself. How we look impacts how we feel! We're all on this thread because we've had it or wanted it...

I don’t know about crows feet, but when I went to get Botox for my forehead (had quite bad lines in forehead but no 11 lines), I was told you have to get 11 lines done if you want forehead as otherwise you’re forehead will kind of press down and over compensate in that area - that makes not sense haha but yes you have to have both as far as I’m aware xxx

Botox hasnt done much for me. I’ve waited over a month and my line between my brows is still there. Granted It’s not as bad as it was but I expected it to be gone considering it wasn’t overly bad to start with either.
You likely have a strong frown muscle and need a higher dosage of units of botox.

I love botox, it really makes you feel better - your skin is smoother, make up goes on better and you just look fresher. It doesn't seem to last that long on me, 3 months max but its still worth it and as time goes on will last longer.

Only thing is it does make me notice more where other parts of my face now droop (mouth for example) but thats age I guess :cautious:

There are different types of botox so one could react quicker than another or give slightly different results.

My OH isn't a fan either but fails to see the correlation between how I look and me having work done! He often says "I think you look really good, why do you have stuff done" - because if I didn't, I wouldn't look like this sweetheart! 😂
The other product is Dysport. Some people prefer it, it is often cheaper. Dysport doesn't work as well on stronger wrinkles and also doesn't last as long. Dysport actually isn't Botox, as they are two seperate brands. They do similar things though. So if you want a strong look, clarify that the injector is using Botox, not Dysport.

I’m going for my Botox tomorrow usually I notice a difference pretty much within a few hours of having it. I have two friends that do it sometimes they use the same product other times different I find either one works really well. As for telling my husband I just say ‘I’m going for my Botox/lips today’ he doesn’t get it but he knows it makes me feel better about myself so he’s chilled about it.
