Loool. That is another thing to check out! I looked at all their IG accounts to see what the outcome for people was 😂. If all the clients looked frozen that was a big no...obv some people want that look but not everyone does.
I would love to post my local booty therapist lady on here, she looks like a frozen piece of fish. I won’t but you can imagine.

She also does body shop at home hun.

So like I said, I am booked in for my consultation in a few weeks and am excited but also a little nervous.
Has anyone else on here had "baby" Botox - so you can still make expressions but lines are much softer? I think that's the look I am wanting.
How were you after the treatment? Any bruising? I know you can't exercise for 24 hrs or so after.

also did family notice you got botox?

I've had botox a few times on my 11 lines on my forehead. I've got one brow lower than the other so I go to a qualified Dr to get it done because he knows exactly where to put the injections so I don't end up uneven. I used to have it done every six months, which stopped the lines but also meant I didn't end up with a frozen head.

I had it once on my crows feet but didn't like it, I have high cheeks and it made my smile look strange to me, nobody else noticed it. The Dr said I could have baby botox there in future but I've never been tempted again.

Botox is a great preventative too, my frown lines are nowhere near as pronounced now as they were 5 years ago, even though I haven't had botox since September 2019

That’s what I wanted but then after I had it the movement still annoyed me and looked a bit weird (this may have been down to the dr though!). So I went back and got more done so I was completely frozen. Looking back I should have just stick to the mild botox but it’s hard to tell when you’re looking at your own face at the time! I had minimal bruising, maybe one very small yellow bruise that was easily covered. Took about a week to set in and you feel some tingling but it’s not unpleasant. You’ll also get an urge to raise your eyebrows everytime you go past a mirror to see if you can still do it 🤨.

Nobody noticed (that I know of!), at the time I only told my 2 best friends and my boyfriend. Since it’s worn off I’ve gone and blabbed it to everyone and they said they didn’t have a clue and were trying to work out when I’d had it to look at pictures and see if I looked different. I notice it slightly in some seflies but I don’t think it was noticeable IRL really

Can I ask when you get the 11 lines done, do they just inject into them or is it the whole forehead? Also, is it painful?
Thanks!

You can just get your 11’s done if you want. I didn’t find it painful tbh.

I had first had Botox just after my 30th back in 2018, it was the best decision I made. Researching your practitioner is key like everyone has said.
I had really deep frown lines that had creased my forehead even when I wasn’t frowning.
initially I didn’t want the full frozen look but I found I looked so much fresher with it, so I went back every 3 months for a while.
Nobody noticed at all, it just gave me a more fresh faced look. With out the extra creases my make up went on much better too.
I haven’t had any now for a year with the pandemic and I’m in desperate need of a top up.
One time I had it done I did get a bruise around my one eye as the practitioner must have hit a vein. It didn’t last too long though.
For me I just wish the effects lasted longer! Although I have heard the more you get it done the longer you can leave between treatments.

Just thought I’d come on and say I went ahead and got Botox about 3 weeks ago, and I absolutely LOVE the results! I really wish I had done it sooner 🙂

I just booked my consultation today but it's not until June :( what area did you get done?

I got forehead, frown lines and crows feet. I had a check up after 2 weeks and needed a little more as I have quite a prominent forehead and it needed tweaking 😂

Soo can you still move your face? Just wondering, I would still like to retain some movement but equally want the treatment to do what it should 🤣 I think I'd probably do forehead and frown lines, but I'm not even sure if I'm a good candidate for it as my eyebrows are quite low, heard botox can make this worse 🤔

Do your research when it comes to injectors... don't just cheap out. A good one will know where NOT to apply botox so you do not get droopy eyes.
Facial movement depends on how many units you get... if you still want movement, you tell the injector that and less units will be used.

I haven’t got a lot of movement in my forehead but I actually like it like that - it resembled a crinkle cut crisp beforehand as it was so wrinkly, it’s lovely and smooth now 😂
I can still frown, and still have movement around my eyes. I do need to wear sunglasses if I’m outside though as I can’t squint very well! I only had a small amount put in the first time, but after 2 weeks (that’s the amount of time it takes to get the full effect) and I went for my follow up, we both decided that I needed more in my forehead.
When you have your consultation, tell the nurse or doctor what results you are hoping for. They will advise you on what places on your face would be best to have the Botox. I hadn’t considered my crows feet but I’m glad I had them done!

Thanks, I think the place I found is good with a medical professional doing the treatments but it's useful to know and good that I can still possibly have the treatment and avoid droopy eyes as long as its done well

Thank you, yes with the consultation first I'll be able to ask all this I guess. I was actually thinking about the sunglasses thing today as it was so sunny, thought it probably would be hard to squint with botox!

I wholeheartedly agree with this, definitely do your research when it comes to a clinic/injectors. I could have had it done for cheap by my neighbours friend 😳 but I looked online for local registered clinics, checked their credentials and also reviews. Yes, it may cost more but I just felt better knowing it was done in a professional sterile environment by qualified staff.

How do you find someone good? All the websites I’ve looked at all look great so not sure how to tell the good from bad!

I looked for a plastic surgery clinic that has been around for years - not a trendy new injection place that's just popped up. And I looked at their, the plastic surgeon and injectors qualifications that were listed. I made sure the injector is not just a registered nurse who decided to do botox, that she's actually registered with the American and Canadian Plastic Surgery Society, she is also a certified aesthetic nurse specialists which is not common in Canada. She is trained properly on the structure of the face which is very important when it comes to botox placement to avoid droopy eyes etc. I also wouldn't go with somewhere just because it's cheaper. When it comes to your face, cheap is not the answer lol.
