I think this is a very good point. Your childhood becomes ‘normalised’. My parentsdidn’t like each other but divorce wasn’t so accepted then. So my dad worked away then when that job finished he abd my mum had separate bedrooms and did nothing as a couple. When I look back on my failed marriage, I can see clearly that I repeated that exact pattern despite having had therapy.
Carrie will see her current position as completely legitimate, one of power and be comfortable with it. Which is a shame as he is unlikely to be as inclusive with her and their son as Carrie’s father was.
It's in Private Eye this week that the Pope wants an explanation from Cardinal Nicholls of how exactly Johnson was allowed to marry in Westminster Cathedral.
