That does help - I'm going to wait until you've finished to see if I should reserve it again 😂 I haven't been able to get much further with it.
Mine is a library book too & I have a few more to pick up this week so I need to get off here & get reading 😆 Will report back…

I have just finished listening to That’ll Teach Her by Maz Evans on Audible as mentioned in this thread before and I LOVED IT! Grim in parts but hilarious in others, exactly my kind of humour- thank you to the person who mentioned they were reading it it was absolutely ace and my favourite book so far this year. I have borrowed another book of hers from the library, can’t remember which one off the top of my head, but looking forward to reading that.

Edit: we are expecting OFSTED in the summer and I’m tempted to gift the head teacher a copy of this book as an example of how wrong it could, but won’t, go for us 😂

I have completely lost my love of reading and I'm devastated 💔 It's been almost 5 months since I fell into this slump and probably the longest in years. I'm enjoying reading your posts and have, of course, purchased new books and I live in hope that the interest returns.

I’m so sorry, I went through similar last year. A kind poster here told me to re read a book I love. It did help. I hope your book slump clears soon

It's not purely about wool but you might enjoy A Short History of the World According to Sheep by Sally Coulthard.

On a different note, I've started Butter by Asako Yuzuki, and I know it was a big thing last year or the year before but it's not really gripping me so far.
I finally finished *Butter*. What an absolute slog.

I'm off work and was hoping to get a few books read but dragging myself through that has completely spoiled it.

My own fault for being too stubborn to DNF, though 😣

This was me but with sewing. I was obsessed with it in lockdown, was sewing every weekend and then pooooof! this past year I haven't touched my machine once. I do have things I want to make, and I know a project will entice me back at some point, but sometimes these unintended slumps happen. I hope you find something you really want to read soon and it comes back to you again ❤

I need to finish a dress I started last Jan before I completely miss the season to actually wear it again 🫣

I’ve also been a bit slumpy with reading this month - StoryGraph reminded me I’m behind on books and pages - I think it’s that I haven’t read anything that’s grabbed me but now I feel a lot of pressure to pick something amazing for my next read but also by deciding to pick something amazing I’m setting myself up for disappointment… argh.

Has anyone read Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maeherer? It’s on 99p deals this months and looks like frivolous fun.

I enjoyed it, definitely don't take it seriously, it's a bit cheesy but it was easy for me to read when I had a stressful work week. Worth a try for 99p.

As you can see I was influenced to read some books. IYKYK.😁
The Hallmarked Man was hands down the best thing I've read in ages. Unfortunately I suffered from something similar to something in the book whilst I was reading it, so I was jumpy as hell for the rest of it. Luckily an unknown neighbour was my knight in shining armour. Nice to know people are watching out. 🙏
The House Maid's Secret was a DNF. Can't remember why - that's just how much interest I had in it.
The Wellington book was also a DNF as it wasn't what I'd wanted to read it for.
I finished listening to the Liz Taylor book from last month and got through 3 or 4 of my tbr books that have been hanging about the house, so I'm well chuffed with my reads and listens.
Hopefully by the time I get to the end of next month I'll be presenting my next monthly reads - and a big problem I've yet to face will have been resolved.🙏
