same 🤣 plus this is technically the end of january, i’m not overly strict about it! if you know you’re not going to finish before the end of the month then post your roundup whenever 🥰
It’s the autism in me - has to be exact here 😂🤓😂

I lost this thread for months!

My reading has dipped, I'm dating so the man takes up my reading time. I've decided I'm going to be more relaxed this year and I've willingly lost my Story graph streak of 2 years 😬

I'm currently listening to Slags by Emma Jane Unsworth. It's tagline describes it as "hilarious" but I've yet to experience that, maybe I just don't have a sense of humour!

I've just finished Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe about the Troubles in Northern Ireland. It reads like fiction, was highly informative and well researched. I believe it's now a series on Disney+. For about the fifth time, I'm now rereading Wuthering Heights :ROFLMAO:
Say Nothing is on Channel 4 - I’ve watched it. Might grab the book though

I also post on the last day because I'm delusional that I'll finish another book in time 😅
this is the approach i should take 🤣🥰

but instead i just post when i personally know my month’s reading has come to an end it’s not a big deal really is it?! and don’t even try another book 🫣 your way is way better!!!

Your way is much more sensible; I just can't help clinging to hope!

Also, I like everyone posting on different days, makes it easier to look through for new books

That was the first ive read of hers. Got it from the library and it was no 13 in the series. No really enjoyed it though so going to start that series from the beginning, will keep an eye out for the Gregory ones! Thank you!
Pretty sure they’re on Kindle Unlimited 🙂 there’s also a summer suspense series all set in Cornwall which are pretty easy reads.

I’m halfway through The Marriage Act by John Marrs.
He’s an odd one for me, I either love his books or struggle through them because I hate to not finish one!

Yay to the dating! And boo to the streak.

I didn't find it overly funny either - I didn't mind it, but wasn't as good as others made out.

I really enjoyed the marriage act but on reflection I just think I read three of his best books on the bounce - the one, and the minders being the others. I think they are really interesting concepts and like how they played out but I can’t bring myself to call myself a fan of the rest. I think they are easily readable but sadly diminishing in quality for me.

I absolutely can never reread that book now, thank you for making my mind up!

This one is about Alba. I'm going to sit and wait on the reviews (no one remind me of this post, thanks)

I’ve also recently reread The Passengers, The One, The Minders and The Marriage Act (I finished this only yesterday). It’s weird because I’ve classed him as one of my favourite authors for years but on my rereads I noticed my Goodreads rating has gone down. I don’t know if it’s the shock value or the storyline not being there as much given I’ve already experienced it or what. I still want to keep rereading them as I do enjoy them but it’s been an interesting observation.

Before this set of rereads, I would have said I was more a fan of his speculative fiction books than his standalone thrillers but now I’m not so sure. I’m going to work my way through them all again and shall report back.

I like the slightly dystopian angle in some of his books more than the thrillers I suppose. The thrillers arent BAD, they just don’t stand out against any other ones really!

Forgot to mention my January reads in my last post so here they are:

Nesting - Roisin O'Donnell ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bunny - Mona Awad ⭐
Lady Macbeth - Ava Reid ⭐⭐⭐

Just started The Gathering by C J Tudor
