Not books but book adjacent, I really recommend the podcast Novel Idea. It’s Matt and Mollie from radio 1 and they’re basically writing a book where they alternate who writes each chapter. Each podcast ep is their cohost reading the latest chapter - it’s hilarious and actually I’m getting quite hooked on the book too

You seem to be a fast reader and have read some really good books, which you probably whizzed through for that reason.

I've just got Barchester Towers - I vaguely recall someone on here recommending it.
Also got Agatha Christie's Seven Dials Mystery, as I remembered some talk about it on here a while ago too.

My March reads. Surprisingly given my previous dislike of Kristen Hannah The Women was probably my favourite of this lot, along with My Husbands Wife which was mostly great but felt a bit too overly complicated at the end to be really believable.

The Enchanted Wood has been on my Kindle for ages and now felt like the right time to read it with the film coming out. It definitely reminded my of why I loved Enid Blyton so much as a kid!

I loved Home Fire too - I read it in 2018 and still think about it

Totally agree about Theo of Golden. It was such a slog in the middle and a bit too saccharine sweet for me.

Home Fire I liked but it wasn’t a stand out and not one that’ll really stay with me I don’t think.

A bit of a funny month for me, reading-wise. I really enjoyed Atmosphere, but I see why others wouldn't. Really glad I finally read Know My Name.

A good month. The Correspondent was my highlight. A 5 star for me. I found it very moving.

Here's me for March

5 stars for Broken Country and Dont Let Him In. It was a pretty nice reading month for me, no real duds

My worst read was The Murder Game by Tom Hindle it was ok but I only gave it 3 stars because it was way too similar to his Death in the Arctic.

Now on to April. My first read will be Ester Is Now Following You for the book club thread.

Ooh nearly forgot to mention the Elements of Marie Curie which I also gave 3 stars. Nothing wrong with the book and it was seriously interesting, I hadnt realised there were so many women in science at the start of the 20th century. But it was way too technical, pages and pages of technical scientific stuff which I found quite boggy to get through.

I’ve gone for
In the weeds - BK Borison (book 2 of 4, read 1, bought 4 last month!)
The survivor wants to die at the end - Adam Silvera. I really enjoyed the first two of these.

Happy place by Emily Henry is a maybe, I’ve got Funny Story to read but the two of hers I’ve already read didn’t blow me away.

I’ve gone for Lady Tremaine which was the only deal on my wish list. It’s a retelling of Cinderella from the evil step mother’s perspective. Hoping it’ll be a fun one.

Only had a quick glance through the rest but I did spot Lonesome Dove there so if that’s been on anyone’s must read list it’s a bargain at 99p. Highly recommended, it’s a long one but definitely worth the time.

I also saw Year of the Locust on there but think I’ve been de influenced from picking that up by reviews here, despite loving I Am Pilgrim. (Unless anyone has strong views in favour of it….!)
