I really enjoyed Blood Orange but haven't really enjoyed anything else shes written. Might give this one a go thoughI’ve been reading some of Harriet Tyce’s books recently (following Traitors). Not usually my kind of thing at all, but I read Witch Trial this week and the twist towards the end was SO much fun. The previous 2 I read were so dark and depressing but this one left me with a huge smile on my face! A delightful turn of events, very playful writing.

Posting my reads early as I won't have time to read anything else this month.
I feel like I've had a very good month of reading and listening to audio books.
I even read a therapy book which seems to be in demand, as I wasn't able to renew it at all.

i have! and found it massively overrated - i’m SHOCKED by it being named best of the decade but taste is all relative i guess
it’s a genius idea and very beautifully written (if very surface level). i just found it really difficult to care about any of the characters and i wasn’t invested at all in what happened to any of them.

I read it recently! I liked it, related to a lot of it i have to say! But yeah definitely long and dragging in some parts and absolutely not best of the decade. I think more could've been done with it. I liked it more because i found it personally relatable than because it was well executed. The writing was nice indeed.
Anyone read Revolutionary Road?
I enjoyed The Invisible Live.... but am surprised it's a best book of the decade. How did they come to that?

by richard yates? yes, outstanding book and probably an american classic - tough read in places though.

Omg I used to love Helen Forrester. Read Tuppence to cross the Mersey at fifteen for school, and then read all of her books. Sorry that you weren’t impressed!
