just finished reading ‘the Moonflowers’ by Abigal rose-marie
a beautiful, powerful book about women and their courage and strength and even though its mainly historical fiction, the theme is still very much a today issue as well.
would highly recommend but would say there are some trigger warnings so maybe check those out if you need them.

Have also given up on the works. My boyfriend offered to get me a voucher for there for Christmas and luckily I managed to stop him. Used to always find something in the 3 for £5 but now it costs more and it's largely bad romance and romantasy.
Yeah, I always used to find something when it was 3 for £5 but now I can't find anything now so it's a good job that I have so many books on my bookshelves to choose from.
I walked in last weekend and walked right back out again.
The selection of books they have now really is poor.
The Forgotten Garden is currently 99p on Kindle.I currently find myself coming to the end of an audio book - The Girl On The Cliff by Lucinda Riley which has held my attention despite my usual wandering concentration, (and annoying drivers distracting me whilst driving as they do dangerous things).
The other book The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton I have been reading at night in bed. I love a mystery and there is mystery aplenty in this book. I feel a bit like Alice in Wonderland tumbling into a bookshop and weaving my way through fairytales. The book is over 650 pages long, not unlike the Strike series of tomes by Robert Galbraith (J K Rowling).
Turns out they're both old books which I expect you have read already.
They are really interesting stories to come back to after I previously absconded to The Cedar Tree TV series on You Tube.

I've finished The Forgotten Garden. I think it is the best book I've read so far this year.
My advice is don't read the end when you start reading the book, as I sometimes do.
It will ruin it for you.
You might find yourself surfacing from reading this book and hours have gone by, plus a lot of pages!
I guessed wrong about the parents of Nell.
You'll get to stages where you'll be thinking and possibly saying out loud. OMG!!!
Also don't read the ending with a full face of makeup, as you'll have tears pouring down your face if you've a thread of empathy!

My Mum told me that my Grandma would always read the end of a book and if she liked it she would end up getting the book if she didn't then she wouldn't buy it.My advice is don't read the end when you start reading the book, as I sometimes do.

I am halfway through Cavanagh's The Defence. It's gripping!
Watched The Walsh Sisters on I player. Granted it’s been eons since I read the books but Mammy Walsh, in my head was an OTT Irish mammy, who interfered in their lives but in a forgiving way because of her protective character. The tv show, she was icy, distant and nothing like I’d imagined.
HMV used to have a good selection of books and always got the 2 for £9 deal (previously £7). Last 6 months though I've found they're not changing any of the titles on offer, some have been there for years. Before there was always a different selection of good cult classics. Asked someone in there today why the stock was so low and they said they're brining in a 'full price range' which doesn't bode well.
I'm intrigued to watch this. Were the other characters more like you imagined them?
