Partway through The End of Men by Christina Sweeney-Baird. It is good, very page-turner-y, about a flu-like global pandemic that only affects men. But I have had to put it down for a few days as it combined with the actual pandemic we are in was making me stressed 
I read this last week and also couldn't put it down. It reminded me of The Power but I enjoyed this a lot more. I've made a start to Constance - my amazon first read of the month. I'm enjoying it so far. Hoping to finish it off in next few days. My plan to stay inside and read have been ruined because of the sunshine.

Does anyone else enjoy reading Lynda La Plante novels. I'm totally hooked, and ordered more from the library.

I loved The End of Men and agree with the comparison to The Power! I might actually need to give The Power a re-read, I forgot how good it was…
I didn’t love this one. I thought the first half was quite good but the second half was much weaker. It turned into a bit of a World War Z rip-off, I felt, and I was just disappointed in the way that the really interesting premise was never really fully developed. There were too many little storylines that just fizzled out a bit.
I read all of the Anna Travis series years ago and absolutely loved them, they actually got me back into reading. Might need to check out some more of her books.
Yes the Anna Travis books were great. I can recommend any of Lynda's books though, including the shorter stories.
So Im more than half way through The Five now. About half way through victim number 4 Kate.
I am finding it interesting but I also feel like every victim has these huge stories of tragic events. How much of that can all be true? Or is it a sign of the times and Im just oblivious. As I said previously Im not a fan of historical stuff in any media form. I watched Bridgerton last year just because it was recommended to me but thats where I draw the line. Cant be doing with Downton Abbey etc.
Like someone else said it does seem like a lot of artistic licence has been used as Im a bit dubious at how accurate record keeping could have been, like the workhouse logs etc.
Overall v informative though and I would recommend it so far.

Yeah I see what you mean about World War Z. Life got a bit bland as they went back to normal fairly quickly (although it feels like that's happening post-Covid but that's another thread). I might have missed it but I really wanted Lisa (the "inventor" of the vaccine to meet a mysterious/assinated end. Although I could have missed that as I was reading on my Kindle app and I don't retain information as well when reading from there

Wuthering Heights is really hard work. I just have had no motivation to read it lol so I think I'm just gonna be naughty and read the dialogue so I can finish it.

Haha, we had to read and digest, discuss and watch a play on Wuthering Heights at school, back in 1971. So you have my sympathy.
