I read it in hardback from the library and loved it so waited for paperback release date.

The other week I came home from a really awful day at work wanting to hide away from the world. Then I found my WiFi was down so no doom scrolling or binge watching Netflix as I had planned. I decided to read The Wedding People as it had been discussed on here @veronica71. At the start I thought it was definitely not a book to read when you’re feeling low but I soon changed my mind on this and really enjoyed it.
Question for you all. Have any of you signed up to World of Books+? And if so do think it's worth it, get good value from it etc.? I'm being tempted.

Have downloaded the first Strike book as that is also 99p and pondering on The Greengage Summer as I read it as a teen and seem to recall like it

. I thought it was okay, but nothing special. I know I am very much in the minority though, as most people love it!
If you’re UK based (can’t remember if you are or not, sorry) I recommend Bert’s Books, you can order online and he delivers quickly.
I bought a Kindle!!!
I fired up my new one today - instantly love it. So much faster than my old one, and clearer.
I used to work at an airport and all my books from pre 2010 are hardback size but softback. Only downside is you can only buy from WHSmith so £££.I was watching something on TV this week and a woman on it said something about if you hate hardbacks buy the book from the airport to get it in a softback. I didn't think anything of it at the time as I don't hate hardbacks, but it sounded like you can pick up the latest book in softback probably due to weight restrictions.
The other benefit of a kindle - although you all seem to have bought one now already! - is that you don’t have to spend five mins every night trying to find ur book mark - or maybe that’s just me
An oddity of book buying in Australia is that new releases normally come as the large format paperback books like you find in airports here in the UK. I don't know exactly why.

I’m a couple of chapters into Wedding People! So I’ll also report back.
I’ve just finished Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney. I always struggle with unreliable narrators, but quite enjoyed this until the end, which was just huh?! Had to Google it and saw lots of others were confused too, which made me feel better. I thought I’d missed a chapter!

I finished the countess and the queen last night by Anne O’Brien and loved it as I do all her books. She has the ability not to mess about with history too much and give a real human story to it all and make you really feel for these figures that you sometimes don’t like from reading historical non fiction.
And it seems my reading slump has ended as I immediately started The Twyford Code - what an interesting way for a book to be written. Think I’m going to enjoy it!
