Can anyone recommend any true crime books? Something along the lines of Talking With Serial (Female) Killers?

I had read every Amazon review for books, but don't want something with hysteria and sensationalism. Just facts told in a story like way

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle MacNamara is really good. It’s about the Golden State Killer.

If you’ve been following the Mushroom Murders and want another Australian Murder trial to read about, Joe Cinque’s Consolation by Helen Garner.

The Kobo e-readers are also on sale at the moment so I’ve decided to finally order a Libra Colour. Have been tempted since we were talking about kindle alternatives a few months ago!

Thank you. I have loosely before following the mushroom murders after her name popped up on an Aussie friend's Instagram. What a bonkers thing to happen.

I have a Kobo Clara (just black and white), and I do love it - I've actually gone off my kindle a bit since getting the kobo. Please report back on how you find the colour version!

This story has been totally engrossing- particularly for those of us in Melbourne close to the action! We eagerly await the inevitable upcoming books and mini-series based on this wild story- once suppression orders are lifted/sentencing completed/ potential appeal etc. etc.
Sone good threads on this site with all the action and commentary, too 🙂

I think Joe Cinque's murder and the trials that followed are slightly less bonkers (no dehydrators and mushrooms and trips to the tip!) But Garner writes really excellently and is definitely not sensationalist!

I finished The List of Suspicious Things yesterday - 4.5 stars. Really didn’t expect it to end how it did!
and…. I’ve just picked up Beartown!

There’s three months of KU for zero at the moment cos of Prime day (which isn’t actually a day but that’s for another day….) I’ve got a week or two left on mine last cheap sign up. If I cancel it and sign up again will it let me do it for zero?

A while ago there was a poster on here lamenting the long wait for Book 3 of The Book of Dust...I have just seen it is coming out in October 🎉. I will be waiting for the paperback, though, as the other two I have are paperback. I wish paperback would come out at the same time as hardback.
