A while ago there was a poster on here lamenting the long wait for Book 3 of The Book of Dust...I have just seen it is coming out in October 🎉. I will be waiting for the paperback, though, as the other two I have are paperback. I wish paperback would come out at the same time as hardback.

I was watching something on TV this week and a woman on it said something about if you hate hardbacks buy the book from the airport to get it in a softback. I didn't think anything of it at the time as I don't hate hardbacks, but it sounded like you can pick up the latest book in softback probably due to weight restrictions.🤔

There’s three months of KU for zero at the moment cos of Prime day (which isn’t actually a day but that’s for another day….) I’ve got a week or two left on mine last cheap sign up. If I cancel it and sign up again will it let me do it for zero?
When I’ve tried in the past it hasn’t let me but you can resume the cancelled one if it doesn’t let you

This story has been totally engrossing- particularly for those of us in Melbourne close to the action! We eagerly await the inevitable upcoming books and mini-series based on this wild story- once suppression orders are lifted/sentencing completed/ potential appeal etc. etc.
Sone good threads on this site with all the action and commentary, too 🙂
I will have to look the threads up. My friend is in Melbourne too and it has been we have talked about. I can't wait to hear all the dirt.

When I cancelled mine they gave me a couple of free months. When I cancelled at the end of that, I think its 6 months between cancelling and being eligible for offers.

I always get excited by the idea airport hardbacks in paperback then remember they’re giant aka hardback size and don’t buy one lol

Speaking of airports.. shortlisting my holiday reading atm 👀 tempted to go for a couple of the recent thread favs!

I took matters into my own hands and ordered a new kindle myself 😂. I think the past 2 prime days (October & this time last year) I debated about getting a new one! I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t get it this time!

Yes, that's right the one she was holding up when talking about the soft backs did look big, but I've always wondered where people got these from.

I've read a few of Louise Candlish's books, and this one sounds good. (y)
For fellow Anne Tyler fans on here, I've just read Three Days in June, and it's a classic AT read. Loved it.
Now reading The Safekeep, which was a birthday gift. 🤞 High hopes for this prize winning book.
Unfortunately there's a queue and it's still on order. I've never read her before.

I've made July my Bookouture month where I will only be reading books that have been published by Bookouture and this is the book that I am currently reading:

I haven't got many pages of this book left but I have really enjoyed it and I would highly recommend reading a book published by Bookouture as they really do release some excellent books.

I ordered a new kindle, mine was close to 10 years old and the USB was playing up. Both the most basic models. I put it off until now as my old one was fine but it looks a lot crisper and much quicker to respond e.g when clicking on menus.

I had 99p for three months, paid full price for three months, paused in June and they just offered me three months free until October.

So it might not always be free but it seems the deals come back.

The Wedding People is 99p on kindle at the moment- was that a hit or miss on here, I feel it was definitely discussed 🤔

Have downloaded the first Strike book as that is also 99p and pondering on The Greengage Summer as I read it as a teen and seem to recall like it

As of later this morning I will have no library books in my pile. I also cancelled my KU but I think I’ll undo that, read the ones I have on there then cancel.

I enjoyed One Night at the Chateau. I’m now reading Clytemnestra

One Night At The Chateau was released in paperback 5 June 2025. I'm still trying to locate it in shops/supermarkets.🙄
Oh well Amazon it will have to be.🙄
