frost and starlight? i ALWAYS tell people to skip that - as this thread will attest, it made me hate both feyre and rhys a bit 🤣
So I'm about to start ACOWAR, Book 3. If I skip Frost and Starlight will I miss any major plot before Silver Flames? What's the point of a filler novella?

I wish I knew!

There’s no major plot points, you could probably listen to a podcast or You Tube a synopsis to make sure you don’t miss anything.
I think I remember it being more scene setting…. and Feyre painting

as @CommentBelow says, there is no real point to it (beyond SJM getting that cash money!)

it’s basically christmas with the characters, feyre painting, midair sex, feyre talking about painting, sex while flying, feyre getting an art studio (i think?) if you’re a completionist then read it but otherwise you can skip. it should have been a epilogue in another book really!

ahaha sounds bizarre. Thanks for the summary!

I bought the set so I do have it, so maybe I will start it once I have read ACOWAR but if I'm falling asleep I'll skip to Silver Flames.

Started reading a recommended book - Found in a Bookshop.
After reading this excerpt I think the author understands us book addicts 😁

I finished Strange Sally Diamond this afternoon so just been having a quick search to find other people’s thoughts on it. Glad I’m not the only one who had a “I loved it until I didn’t” sort of feeling!

I have no problem with books that don’t have a neatly wrapped up happy ending, but I just felt so disappointed with how Sally was left by the author. After coming through such trauma and making something of herself, to see her go back so much was frustrating. Maybe more realistic but I don’t think the rest of the book was gritty or real enough to justify that as an excuse for the end.

I agree With you! I did still really enjoy reading it though. I liked how it went from being dark to making me laugh. But definitely agree!

I finished reading Animal Kingdom by Iain Rob Wright just now and absolutely loved it. I’ve read a few of his books now and bar one I’ve practically inhaled them and rated them 4 or 5 stars. For being free books they’re awesome. He’s not the best writer in the world but he does create imaginative horrors that are simple (but addictive) to read.

Onto The Next Mrs Parrish now!

I'm alone in this but I like Frost and Starlight :) I love the characters so much that I don't mind just reading a couple of hundred pages of them hanging out, but if I'd paid more than 99p for it I might have been annoyed.

It's so cute and cosy. There are loads of sweet wintery scenes and the characters interacting without all the war and drama. Plus Feyre and Rhysand are so ridiculously corny and hilarious in this book and corny Rhys is my second favourite Rhys.

There are a couple of things that act as a bridge between the previous trilogy and Silver Flames, but nothing you couldn't catch up with.

Ive waited and waited for Keeping 13 to go on an audible sale as I really enjoyed Binding 13 on audio.

What have they done. Put part 2 on the £2.99 sale but not part 1. Whos buying that?!? 😭

I loved that book!
I think the author is a "feeder ".😁 She's now giving book recommendations:

I've got to the "book pharmacy" bit. I never realised you can be prescribed a book. I've never thought of asking in a bookshop. Probably fearing I would be marked down as a loony, so I'd go on an endless quest for "the book".
No one I know understands why I love books so much, so you are the people I can talk to about it as you understand. 🥰

I'm the same with books in that I love them but then when my mum asks me what the book was about for some reason I don't remember a single thing about the book I have read. If I am reading one and I tell her how good it is then after I have finished it she might read the book herself to see if it is good as I say it is.
