I started The Last Mrs Parrish tonight after having it on my list forever. I remember someone on here saying Freida basically ripped off the story for The Housemaid, which I’ve already read. So far it feels absolutely identical, for anyone who has read both is it worth me carrying on and reading it? It genuinely feels like I’m reading a book I’ve already read at the moment, and it’s even more frustrating as I know this is the “original” so I would have read it first had I known before I picked up The Housemaid.

Personally, I would keep reading. I read both books, 10 months apart but in the opposite order to you and didn’t liken the two. I really enjoyed both of them.

I actually just finished it last night and had the exact same thought. At one point it all just clicked and I was just 😐 for the remainder. I enjoyed both and would advise you to finish it but the blatant similarities are undeniable.

Hi guys! New to this thread just found it! I normally read romance with the odd thriller thrown in (usually by frieda McFadden as always fast paced). But recently I’ve been reading a lot more thrillers and preferring them over romance atm! Can anyone recommend some to me please? I have so many romance on my list but not sure where to start properly with thriller. I’ve read AGGGTM (all 3), a few frieda McFadden, next of kin, local woman missing. My most recent were Clickbait (loved this) and strange sally diamond (5 ⭐). Anyone chuck a few at me! I have kindle unlimited aswell! Thankyou ❤

if I’m remembering correctly, the ending is slightly different, but most of it is pretty much identical so I would say it depends on how far in you are!

The Stranger in Her House by John Marrs is really good. I’m currently reading What Lies between Us by JM too and so far so good.
If you like audio I highly recommend None of This is True by Lisa Jewell soooo good. Podcast style and really well done

Has anyone read Judy Dench’s Shakespeare book? It’s a Daily Deal today and looks like it has rave reviews. I do love a bit of Dame Jude so tempted…!

i’m so mad about it 🤣 it’s a brave plot choice but it so changes brooklyn (and i guess makes the ending clearer) that i’m going to consider the film (which i adore) stand-alone canon instead. i should point out that he lives but makes a terrible decision which is revealed literally on the second page i LOVE brooklyn tony book and film so much 😭

Anyone else finding that amazon will randomly reduce kindle book on their wish list to £0.00? It’s not kindle unlimited or prime reading. I’ve just bought a book for £0.00, last month I bought 3 at £0.00 and 2 in May. I check my wish lists daily and often snap up books that are reduced to 99p but recently they’ve same have reduced to 0.

Yep! It happens randomly. You need to check regularly.

Okay guys & girls I need your help please! 🙏🏼
Can anyone recommend a good series of paperbacks? Nothing too mushy or sci-fi ..
I only ever read non-fiction but I need some escapism & stuff less depressing. I’ve had a look on Amazon & I’m a bit lost. Would be nice to find something where there’s a series kind of thing ..
Thank you in advance. 💗

How about Lucinda Riley’s Seven Sisters series? There’s a bit of romance in each, mixed with a bit of historical fiction. Each book is about one of the Seven Sisters (as the name suggests!) who have been adopted by a slightly mysterious father figure, and is about them finding their different family histories. There’s also an 8th book about the father that wraps everything up so plenty to keep you going for a while if you like them!
