Finished Homecoming by Kate Morton today. Really enjoyed it, great story. Would definitely read others by her.
Now starting At the Table by Claire Powell. It was a recco from a workmate.

When I’m in a reading slump I normally read something by freida McFadden. Just because they’re such page turners!

Has anyone read Echoes of Us by Emma Steele? I spotted it in Waterstones this morning and the premise seemed interesting. On the dust jacket the publisher compares the book to The Time Traveller’s Wife and One Day. But I’m trying to buy less (fewer?) books so thought I should do research rather than making an impulse purchase!

I'm doing okay ish reading wise this month, after the total failure of June, however does anyone else feel guilty when they take books out of the library and don't read them? I've got a big pile here, 7, and I only managed 2, but the others I can't even look at, I'm just so uninspired! So I'll take them back and maybe re borrow when I'm upto it, but I still feel a weird sense of guilt!

My one issue with the library. Im a mood reader and I will take out books from my wish list but then Im just not in the mood to read them.

quoting myself to say that it sadly did not stick the landing (the final few pages suddenly went at 1000 mph and the epilogue just wasn’t needed). still a very beautiful four stars though!

I am absolutely hooked on The Shards. The writing is great.

Its included in the plus category on Audible at the moment. Narrated by the author but its decent.

I read talking at night last week. The lack of speech marks hurt my head at first, but once I got over that it was a great read.

I finished It Ends With Us this week which I didn't mind.

Moved onto It Starts With Us and it is awful. So much repittiion of the first book and needless explanations. A pointless book.

I read Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q Sutanto because I needed something light but I'm so confused as to why this book has almost 100k reviews and seemed super popular on bookstagram about 3 years ago when it came out.

It's like every character is actually a cardboard cliche. The shenanigans are ridiculous to the point where the normal amounts of suspension of disbelief are no longer enough. It's like it didn't know if it wanted to be a slapstick comedy, a soap opera, a family drama, a romance, a thriller.

Anyway. If you've read it I'd like to know what you thought

I just finished, totally agree.

I felt the epilogue was almost a little twee. Giving the baby almost Nicky’s exact name made me roll my eyes a little. Nicole as a middle name would have been enough!
