Finally finished the first crescent city book, must be a record, think it took me 5 weeks. And tbh, I didn't really like it all that much 
not a huge fan of the characters and thought it was pretty boring until the last 10%. Will probably still read the other books in the series as I'm weird and want to know what happens. But yeah, I'm not amazed by it.

I find that with The Works sometimes they have a really good selection of books to choose from, but on other occasions they have a rubbish selection of books to choose from. Out of the books that they have got in at the moment the only ones I am interested in are Murder at Bunting Manor and The Sewing Factory Girls.
I just devoured Lockdown by Maria Frankland. I stayed up way too late reading it last night as I couldn’t put it down and then carried on today until I was done. Is it the best book ever written? No. But is it an edge of your seat, really need to know how it plays out story? Yes, yes, yes.
I found the first one incredibly overwhelming- the world building was one huge info dump. OK so following on from my post the other day about Waterstones half price book deals, I was on a shopping day with my mum today in a city over an hour away from me and the books in the half price deal were almost totally different (and better) than the ones in my local. Both city centre stores. The plot thickens…maybe I should write a mystery book on it

might take a break before I try reading the second one then. Not ready for another slog. It just doesn't hit the same as ACOTAR.
Finished Wrong Place Wrong Time and was slightly underwhelmed. It was a unique idea but she didn't carry it off and it fell flat with the ending she came up with.
Im currently rereading the second one. If you can get the audiobook, I've found they're much easier to listen to than read. The narrator is very good which helps. But I do agree that they drag on a bit! I really want to love them but I'm just not that invested.Oh no
I have read all of ACOTAR and Crescent City as audios and now on Throne of Glass.
They are soooo much easier by audio. Mainly because you don't have to think about the pronunciation of all the names

currently reading astrid parker doesn’t fail (after an ask again, yes reread) and i’m liking it such more more than delilah green doesn’t care. not that i disliked that one, but this is instantly more involving to me and the writing is hugely improved too. also whoever does the covers of these books is incredible
I just finished Six Days by Dani Atkins. Very similar vibes to The Man Who Didn't Call

I need to start cutting back on the spending so I’m going to try a book buying ban. 
The 99p deals are my downfall but a few books a day or every few days adds up. I have loads of books on my shelves, hundreds on my Kindle and a few on my audible shelf. I also use my library and Libby for ebooks and audiobooks. Send help.

I made a spreadsheet of all the books I had between audio, physical and digital. Seeing them in a big list was sobering and made me realise that so many of them Id bought on impulse and I didnt really fancy them anymore. I was buying solely because they were 99p. Also at the start of the month Ive started adding the new offers to my wishlist rather than buying straight away and thinking about it and as you can see theres been so few Ive actually decided to get.
Im still paying £24 a month for my Afterlight box but the books are so pretty and worth it for me.
