This morning on YouTube community posts I noticed this from MinxLaura. As much as I like her no way on earth would I get involved in this, so now she has a membership section, not sure if she still has patron and now this begging for gifts,i could understand if it if they were related to her ASMR but just appear to be random items she wants, she does have a job as does Nathan and even her mum works, so why not just buy your own bedding and jewellery. It's one thing if someone sends a gift, but to actively set up an account to list gifts that you want comes, across as greedy.

So glad I found this thread. I've watched ASMR for years but it's always felt like a secret.
itsblitzzz/Julia is pretty much the gold standard of ASMR for me. I'm quite fascinated by her life but agree that she's completely out of touch and quite contradictory. I think she's a product of that LA lifestyle - you only have to look at the instagrams of all the women she films with to see it. I'll always return to her videos though.
The BBBY stuff is eyeopening. I don't follow her on anything but youtube so was totally unaware, but she seems like a nightmare. I like her face mask store role play but I find a lot of her videos too quite - as in, she doesn't say much for long periods of time and that doesn't really work for me.
Some recs:
- Recently discovered Oceans ASMR - she's great and sweet and her mall massage/lotion sales roleplay is perfect.
- GreenbeautyASMR is also pretty good- she definitely puts on a voice/way of speaking, but it works. Her spa roleplay is great.
- ASMRChar did a massage video with one of her OF friends. It's short but really works for me for some reason. That said, I do find her videos with her (new) bf quite icky.
Does anyone remember the (in my mind) original Lilli Whispers? She's now VictoriousASMR and does random cooking videos which I don't really get, but her videos from years and years ago are amazing.

I love goodnight moon and I’ve not seen her latest video yet, maybe will check it out tonight but yeah I do feel her content is getting lazy. I’m really invested in her babblebrook series as it’s literally stunning and probably the most amazing piece of asmr cinema out there. I appreciate that it takes time to make these videos and money, but recently a lot of asmrists r getting complacent. Maybe running out of ideas in a very saturated market?

I'm not sure if I know what you mean by the tongue clicking (though I'm sure I'd recognise it if I heard it because I watch way more ASMR than I should!) but something I've noticed becoming really popular is 'TikTok ASMR' for lack of a better term. Usually really fast paced with aggressive tapping on things accompanied by what I can only describe as a stage whisper. It's so chaotic, unrelaxing and untingly, and it's everywhere.

I think BBBY and a lot of the others lie a lot about receiving nasty messages/ being trolled. It simply a scam to make people feel sorry for them, therefore fuelling more likes and more gifts.

I know there are women who have kids to kind of find meaning or purpose in their lives and I get that vibe here. She's seems chronically bored and unhappy and all over the place. and honestly when she would bring in semi or famous people to do asmr on I was like .... ugh. I loved her role plays but her personality online takes me out of it.

Hi! I have been watching ASMR for about 7 years so I’m very glad to find this thread!
I have watched all the usual favourites but at the moment I really really like Little Me Carmie. She does facials, hair play, massage etc. She is actually a beauty therapist so has a room with the massage table, all the tools & gadgets etc. She has a lovely soft posh voice & is so gentle!
I also really like sisters Emvy ASMR & XOKatie ASMR. Just simple videos, often on each other, hair play, massage etc. Nice girls.
I used to be an avid followed of itsblitzzz but echo what everyone here has said about her. Sorry but I can’t stand her anymore. Talk about preachy! Also I find her voice very monotone & grating nowadays. She is very sure of herself & it’s very off-putting.

As for itsblitzz, I initially really enjoyed her asmr content and still do sometimes but like other users have said here her personality and tone deafness is just super annoying. The way she handles and reacts to the smallest criticism or even someone asking her a question that she takes personally becomes a ten story soap box on instagram. She comes from what seems like very humble beginnings which I really liked but she went the completely other direction and has become a performative wealthy LA stereotype. There seems to be this need to be envied that she has and her attitude is just so shitty. Her non asmr videos have become more frequent and they're just her complaining and lecturing viewers half the time and being defensive bc I think more people have been calling her out and she must know its true on some level bc it bothers her sooo much. I don't even necessarily blame her for doing sponsored posts bc it seems like a great opportunity to make good money in a context you enjoy! but I mean.. read the room girl. im glad there is discussion about her channel bc her irked the f**** outta me lately.

Yeah, I watched snippets of that video before realising it was honestly just a complaint-o-rama about problems of her own making. She kept bringing up not having that many bills but also now having a mortgage to pay and I was like, do you want people to feel bad that you have bills to pay? The part I watched she said she spends most of her money on "experiences." Pure speculation but I'm sure getting that downpayment on her new house was a lot easier when her boyfriend owns the house you've lived in for years/probably pays the majority of bills. I ended up unsubscribing because as much as I love her ASMR content, that privileged BS made my blood boil.
I have been watching Jellbybean Green ASMR for quite a few years,her asmr content is very good,but over the last 12 to 18 months all she seems to do is beg. First it was for mkney to build a studio which was sound proof,her subscribers raised thousands of dollars,then it was she bought a new apartment and was vo parenting with ex partner,so kids remained in the family home but she and ex both had to find additional housing for when it wasnt their turn to parent,so her followers gifted thousands of dollars for items from her Throne wish list enabling her to kit out her new apartment. Now shes begging for contributions towards a new computer. Whilst I enjoy her contrnt,quite clearly producing ASMR is not providing a wage,clearly we only know whst she says when asking for money,but it really isnt the responsibility of youtube followers to fund her life choices or lifestyle. Most creators have jobs and create asmr as a hobby. Im starting to grow tired of the begging from people who claim to want to be full time content creators but quite clearly dont consider how they will earn a living. The rest of us work to earn money to pay our way in life,sadly if you have financial responsibility for children then sometimes its about doing a job to pay the bills ,it may not be your dream job butvdo many of these ASMR creators seem like day dreamers who believe creating content and begging for money is a legitimate job
