This was ages ago, but she asked for suggestions or what content/themes people prefer. I wrote that my absolute favourites were hair/beauty/nail salon roleplays but that I pretty much enjoy ANYTHING she does apart from medical ones, and that it's medical asmr in general and not just her. I even said a bunch of other (genuine) compliments about her vids in case it sounded like it was aimed at her personally. I got this snippy reply back like "thanks, BUT...." about how medical roleplays are her most popular so she's always gonna do them regardless, like okay but.... you asked what content we liked?....I have seen some of her replies to comments on Youtube too and she often comes off as quite rude. She can't take any form of constructive criticism and I've even seen her reply rudely to some comments which are completely complimenting her - one example I can I think of was mentioned in here previously that there was a comment on one of her non ASMR videos that she has a lovely accent, and she responded curtly that "I don't have an accent." even though she clearly has a Wolverhampton/West Mids accent!Her ASMR vids are great but she doesn't seem very humble/approachable
Those are the type I've seen too! Whilst I was following her on Instagram about a year ago she had asked for suggestions to improve her videos and when someone suggested a green screen for backgrounds, she posted the comment on her stories with a scathing response that her followers don't want to see that, and implied that she works harder than ASMRtists that used those. What on earth... as if no work whatsoever goes into using a green screen? I actually thought her green screen videos looked good
and it's pretty bad that she felt the need to put other ASMRtists down as well. There was another time when she made a post on YT about reaching a sub milestone, I made the mistake of thiking that she'd reached it when she actually meant that it was coming up, so I congratulated her and said how she deserves it as she's so good at ASMR, etc, got a reply back and of course she had to correct me.. I know I made a small mistake but just take the compliment! should've known from the first time not to bother commenting again

Totally agree, Maria is my ASMR queen and my go-to when I'm struggling to sleep. She hadn't posted for weeks, I assume due to worry for her family in Russia (which must be awful for her) so I was so glad to see her post again this week! Her sister ASMR Sense seems to have the magic touch too 
I used to love ASMR Massage. She had some of the best videos out there but hasn't posted in years, unfortunately. I still rewatch some, especially one where she does "makeup" on a lady lying down on a couch. It's a really soft video, not much happens, you don't even see the make-up in the end, but it looks like it must have been heaven on earth to be the lady on the couch, hahah.
Absolutely delighted to have found this site, because I love gossiping about the ASMR community but there are very few places to do so!!!
I love, love, love, massageasmr. His voice is perfect and I feel like he has ASMR down to a science. I wish he still uploaded regularly, but I revisit his old videos frequently. I like Tony Bomboni too, for his voice. I cannot listen to the videos where he's whispering super quickly or rambling about stuff, but I like his calmer roleplay videos. I just rediscovered Queen of Serene's old videos, I love her voice and that old lofi kind of filming.
I *loved* itsblitzzz when I first found her early ASMR videos. I am always looking for those kind of hand movement "energy"-ish videos so she popped up on my suggested videos early on and I was SO excited. Then her personality started coming out lol. She is so out of touch with the world, she is so hypocritical and up her own ass about everything. She makes me think of those very "fake woke" people, caring about the hot topics on public platforms for brownie points.
I don't dislike her for being rich, but I hate how she thinks she's relatable to the average person, or that her life is comparable to someone who works a regular full-time job without a famous musician boyfriend. I hate how she instigates dogpiles on people with valid constructive criticisms because she can't handle anyone not kissing her ass. I started getting supremely annoyed and really started falling off with her content when she started with the clickbait-y dramatic titles (where she would just say some dumb tit like "I don't want to talk about it" in reference to WHAT SHE USED TO TITLE THE VIDEO), underwear/boob-heavy thumbnails, and when it started feeling obvious that she wanted to be a lifestyle channel and maybe used ASMR to get her subscriber count up.
ANYWAY. I could truly go on about her for a bit. In non-Julia-related gossip, going back to Tony Bomboni. I feel like the dude has to be buying subscribers every now and then. It's been the same for years on his social blade - neat, even numbers of +1000 subscribers every month, sometimes +2000. Despite his daily subscriber account really never going up.

Her voice is like BUTTAH. I looooove her old makeup/skincare roleplay videos from 2012. I think that was the first time I discovered the "touching the camera lens like it's your face" visual trigger.
You could be on to something - he lost a lot of popularity after making videos which took the piss out of people. His old videos used to have loads and loads of views. That said I love his videos!
I really disliked those vids he did impersonating other ASMR artists. They didn't feel like they were done with any sort of kindness, just a really bitter sort of sending up. I remember how he portrayed MinxLaura and thought it was very mean spirited.

Agreed. For a while he was very off-putting on his vlog channel as well and I think he lost a lot of fans because of that too. He was very rude and entitled in a lot of those. And I forgot about those impersonation videos!!
I'd like to *think* he's matured and grown up since then. He's still a bit of a different dude but doesn't seem to really be nasty toward anyone anymore. He does have one of my favorite asmr voices but I don't feel super strongly about him as a person one way or another anymore. But I didn't watch him for years because a lot of his roleplays were cringy and his non-asmr personality was so ick lol.
Oh! I've really been into Chili B ASMR lately. I love her reiki-ish and examination videos. She is SUPER good at the unintentional vibe. I don't like a lot of female asmr voices but I love hers.

I have watched all the usual favourites but at the moment I really really like Little Me Carmie. She does facials, hair play, massage etc. She is actually a beauty therapist so has a room with the massage table, all the tools & gadgets etc. She has a lovely soft posh voice & is so gentle!
I also really like sisters Emvy ASMR & XOKatie ASMR. Just simple videos, often on each other, hair play, massage etc. Nice girls.

Recently I've been watching ASMR Barber Lady, (a group of female barbers carrying out asmr massages), their content is so relaxing, the only issue is the need for either the masseur or client to be dressed provocatively, it detracts from their amazing skills, just encouraging the sleazy comments. I often wonder if many creators do this because they know it's easier to manipulate perverts into contributing financially, sadly sex sells, but it also devalues the ASMR and the talent so many contributors have.
It really cheapens what is a very therapeutic tool for many of us. It's disappointing that channels feel they have to go that route to be able to exist financially
